3.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 1, 2012 Bottle purchased at Castle Vav. Poured into my Portsmouth tulip. Beautiful color on this, pours a light plum color with about two fingers worth of light pink head. Good head retention. Nose is composed of a combo of blueberry, yogurt, feet, and cheese, with cheese being the prominent theme. It reminded me of Peg’s Cantina’s Double Rainbow Jelly Donut from the berliner bash. Flavor is light blueberry, yogurt, and lemon. There is a good amount of lactic sourness and just a hint of cheese as well. Flavor is decent, not spectacular. Light mouthfeel, light to moderate acidity, somewhat slick or oily, and a moderately long finish. Good first effort at a berliner from Pipeworks. I think they got some room to improve, but these guys seem intent on perfecting their recipes so I look forward to the raspberry and peach berliners they have on the horizon. FWIW, I didn’t get any of the diacetyl people were talking about.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a pale light blueish yellow color with some purple mixed in. Aromas of funky horse blanket, tart bluebarries, and some light funky cheese, i dig this for sure. Flavors were the same, got better after each sip, solid beer, should also mention that this bottle was from the first release (batch 31) and has sat in my fridge the entire time.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 11, 2014 Bottle: New batch, much better than the first I had. Ruby red grapefruit body, quick fading white head. Musty, damp aroma with some lemon acidity and very light blueberry. Flavor has a little blueberry, some fruit skin acidity, light tartness and a dry, musky finish. Yes, this has improved quite a bit since the last batch. Old rating: 5-3-5-4-9, 2.6 overall. It has lost the insane acetobacter, popcorn, & rotten cheese presence of batch one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
First sampled a vile, infected batch of this that was barely drinkable - dominated by acidic parmesan cheese. Thankfully, the next batch was much more drinkable. A nice sour ale with balanced acidity and fruit notes with a dry, puckering finish. Beware though, if you happen to try the infected batch, it’s worth giving this another chance.

1.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Ah, the blue lady. Mild gusher, pours a medium reddish color. Nose is very intense bile and bad cheese. The palate is mildly tart, with lemon and bile flavors. The smell of this beer cleared the room.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared with friends. Pours a light blue color, slightly hazy. Aroma is a weird mix of blueberries, blue cheese and sour funk. Though that combo seemed a bit odd to me it didn’t really take away from the drinking experience, as I went back from 2nd’s. Nice solid beer!
