Pours black with a brown head and strong spicy aroma. Taste is of tons of spices, with chai notes, tea, light chocolate vanilla, and roasted malt with a spicy finish. Interesting brew

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber, via Archer Liquors Chicago, pours a dark black color with no head. Nose is full of spices, including green tea and cardamom. Taste is spicy and peppery with a predominance of Indian laced spices. Finish is spicy as well, with a moderately long finish. An interesting unique stout. Quaff Score 7 / 10

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber at Sammyís from Liam. Dark brown with a mocha head. Chocolate, vanilla, very sweet, reminds me of the Chocolate Chilli Chai tea my wife has from Davidís tea...and I do not enjoy that tea at all. Moderate body and carbonation with a sweet finish.

Thick lace, head. Chai tea aroma. Easy mouthfeel. Lactose was nice. Ok drinkability, just too much chai taste for me.
Thanks for sharing, Liam.

Sample from at Kurtkeller 004: Pipeworks-tastic 01 on 01/18/2014. Black pour with a medium khaki head that diminishes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, chai tea and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of roast malt, chai spices and vanilla. The finish is sweetly spiced with a chai tea and malt aftertaste. I enjoy the drink on which this is based, so this is pretty good to me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a stout brown from the bottle with aromas of roast, earth, spices, light tea, vanilla and some light chocolate. Flavors are the same a weird combination for my likening, but decent overall.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours pretty murky dark brownish not quite black. Aroma brings a nice subtle chai tea note from the blend of addition, especially vanilla, cacao, and cinnamon. There are also a bit of birchy root notes as well, and a bit of the ansie. The flavor brings sublte chai tea and some anise as well, with the Dr. Peppery birch flavor popping up out of no where.

Alright this shit is weird. Dark brown beer with loads of spice, tea, roast, coffee, peppery notes. Just wayyyy too much going on. Bizarre and not overly drinkable.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
22 oz bottle served in a Pipeworks snifter. Batch #180.
A: Pours a solid black color with a light khaki head forming on the pour. It recedes quickly to a thin ring. Some splotches of lace.
S: The spices really dominate this nose. A ton of cinnamon and peppercorn with some light vanilla sweetness. Mild chocolate underneath, but this is mostly the spices here.
T: As with the nose the spices dominate the taste, but thankfully itís a tad more balanced. Cinnamon with the clove and some light citrus. Light lactose, some roast and a little chocolate. A little ginger bread to it. ABV is well hidden.
M: Medium bodied with a nice mouthfeel. Medium carbonation with a little bit of prickly carbonation bubbles. Would be pretty nice if the taste wasnít so harsh.
O: I see where they were going with this, but the base beers gets lost with the dominating cinnamon and clove spices. Not that well executed in my opinion. On itís own it doesnít really work, but if paired with another heavily spice food or treat it would be really nice. I could sip a few ounces of this around Christmas time while eating some ginger bread cookies.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: SEP 28, 2013 Bottle. Pours a deep dark... blah blah blah -- itís a fucking stout so it looks like a stout. Nose is heavy on the cardamom and it overshadows the rest of the spices. The cacao nibs add a chocolatey body and it is a silky smooth mouthfeel, but mainly it tastes a whole like a heavier version of P-Dubs Pastrami on Rye. Iím not hating, but these spiced brews are getting a bit tired and overdone at that. Been a big fan of this brewery since the first batch of NinVs.Uni ... and you can gimme the Ninjas, the Abductions and the various Belgians til the cows come home and hell, I donít even mind the addition of fruit... but for the love of God fellas -- please knock off the potpourri beers.
