4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Glad to have finally tried this. Pours a dark orange color with a two finger off white head that dissipates slowly. Moderate carbonation. Smells of tons of juicy hops. An onslaught of mango, as well as pineapple, guava, papaya, grapefruit, orange, and a candied sweetness. A slight dank quality to it. As it warms, a butterscotch note comes out from the malt. If there was an air freshener that smelled like this, I would buy it on the spot…smells amazing. Taste is just as good. Starts with lots of mango, papaya, and grapefruit, but also has a nice sweetness and butterscotch flavor to accompany it. The finish is wonderful. Tropical and citrus fruits galore. Papaya, guava, mango, pineapple, lemon, grapefruit rind, a slight herbal (almost piney) note, a "cat piss" quality, along with a candied sweetness that gives the fruits a juicy quality to them. Slightly dry on the finish. A slight abrasiveness to it, but with the sweetness it is not overbearing at all. High medium body with a creamy, yet oily mouthfeel. The nice, sweet malt balance, along with the amazingly complex and juicy hop profile make this double ipa stand out. If you are a citra hop fan, seek this out. There aren’t many dipas that capture the complexity and deliciousness of the citra hop quite like this one. This is another exceptional double ipa from Pipeworks.

Bottle shared big thanks to charule and Ellen. Pours a hazy orange golden color with a slight white head. Aroma of mango, tangerine and grapefruit. I can smell this all day. Taste is a slight bit harsh, on the astringent side. Medium high carbonation and a light body.

Catching up on old reviews. Wonderful tropical IPA. Hazy amber orange pour. The beer smelled amazing...grapefruit, mango, pineapple, orange, grass. The taste was equally diverse with a nice hop bite. Just a hint of lingering bitterness. Incredibly juicy tasting. One of the easiest drinking DIPA I've had. Phenomenal.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle sampled at the Side Project release bottle share. Pours a clear deep gold with a small white head. Notes of citrus fruits, caramel, pine resin, and some tropical fruits- though not as much as expected. Medium-bodied, with a bitter, citrusy, resinous mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. A little subdued compared to other citra hop IPAs I’ve had, especially when considering its description. Still solid.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
prominent citra hop nose, slight earthy tones, but a ton of fruitiness. Hop flavor is the same, and well balanced by bitterness and a moderate malt sweetness. The tropical fruitiness comes through more in the flavor. Really well hopped from bitterness to flavor to aroma. Alcohol is well hidden and is not warming.

22 ounce bottle thanks to umich03jm. Poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a hazy copper with a big white head of foam. The aroma has a lot of citrus influence. Grapefruit, orange zest, some pine. Smells fantastic. Fresh citrus zest aroma just makes this beer smell great. The taste is oranges and cream sweetness with a mild bitterness coming through throughout. Juicy and lingering finish. Dries out a bit at the very end. Very nice beer.
