Bottle: The aroma consists of tropical fruits, pineapple, melon, citrus, grapefruit, and a touch of alcohol. It pours a transparent amber with a two finger off-white head that has good retention and leaves some spotty webbing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate tropical fruits, pineapple, and melon. The finish has a good dose of citrusy hops with some grapefruit. There is a little bit of warmth in the finish. Itís medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat sticky mouthfeel.

Thanks to 316nuts. Pours a deep reddish amber. This almost looks like an imperial red ale. Itís somewhat cloudy. The head is medium to small and off-white. Bubbles fade to not much after a minute. The aroma has a lot of caramel malt with some solid citrus and tropical fruit hoppiness. Grapefruit, orange, pineapple, mango, white grape, peach, mint. Some spice. Doughy, caramely malt. Mild booze. A little bubblegum. Taste is sweet, but the caramel malt character is restrained. Medium to medium-high bitterness. Good hop flavor. More of the same mix of citrus, tropical and other fruit notes. The mixture of bitter and sweet gets in the way of the hop complexity a bit. It just gets a bit harsh in the finish. Some alcohol heat but itís mostly hidden. Normal carbonation. A bit heavy. Hop oily. Just a little cloying, at least for my taste. This doesnít fit my preferences in the style, but I can appreciate why others like it.

Pours deep gold into a snifter. White head recedes to mottle surface. Tropical fruit aromas. Thick with dark caramel upfront turning to mango and papaya in the lasting finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of bitter citrus with grapefruit, sweet grains and a bit of onion. Flavor starts with bitter citrus, grapefruit and a hint of pine as well as a hint of onion in the finish.

Bottle to glass. Pours a clear amber slightly copper color with a thin light tan head. Aroma is packed full of fleshy fruit, slightly floral, caramel sweetness. Flavor is a perfect mix of fleshy fruit sweetness, light bitterness. Light to medium in body, but very drinkable. Excellent beer.

Batch 393-394 so not even 3 weeks old .... Cloudy copper/amber pour with a thin off white soapy head and lots of sticky lacing .... aroma smacks you of mangos, pineapple, piney and grapefruity hops .... very juicy hop character as advertised ..... taste is rindy and of mango, pineapple, piney hops and grapefruit rinds ..... has a nice bitter bite to it without killing the juicy citra hop flavors ..... has some caramel malt on the backbone ..... abv hidden well ... this is definitely a loaded brew and def met my expectations .... finishes dry and bitter with a nice spicy hop bite that lingers for a while .... mouthfeel is a little oily

Poured into snifter. Pours a nice amber with fluffy head. Aroma full of fruit and pine notes. Orange citrus on the taste followed with pine/grassy notes. Dry bitter finish that lingers.

tmoreau (2381) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - MAY 13, 2014
Shared bomber, not sure of the cellaring time, poured to snifters showing a cloudy, orange color, with bubbly, white head foam that reduced expeditiously to a ring & film, and left some clingy spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was rind, ripe esters, a touch vegetal, with a hint of frost bitten ice cream. The taste was dank & catty, with citrus, orange, the persistent vegetal hint, lingering, rind-like bitterness, and some alcohol. Light to medium bodied, with soft carbonation. Hasnít been out that long, so this must have started to go south rather quickly.
