Hazy deep amber beer, good cream colour head. Mild skunk, orange and crystallised fruits on the nose. Palate is smooth but has good fine carbonation. Semi sweet creamy malts. Hop spice. Spicy orange. Orange resin. Marmalade and floralness. Trace of skunk. Smooth finish. Lovely stuff, would love to try one super fresh.

Bottle during RBWG Booze Buse 20/02/15 thanks to whomever supplied this juan. Lightly hazed orange amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is melon, orange, caramel malt, citric pith, hop jus. Taste comprises pineapple, orange pith, light grapefruit, straw, earthy hop. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok DIPA but doesn’t really get out of first gear for me.

Orange pour with a white head. Big pineapple, grapefruit, and pine hops. Floral notes, some sweet caramel, peach, and mango. Nice nose. The flavor is a touch sweet with a lot of fruit notes and some caramel malt. There’s a ton of pineapple, mango, and grapefruit. Some bitter pine, a touch of grass, and a nice floral note.

Bottle. Pours amber gold with white head. Nose and taste of fresh citrus, grapefruit rind, caramel malt, orange rind, mango pit and tropical fruits. Taste is an earthy/slightly herbal feel to it. Finishes dry pine/resin/birch sap. Medium body.

Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex citrus hop aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer and exceeded my expectations.

Bomber poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of straw, dank bud, grapefruit, grassiness, earthiness and a hint of lemon zest. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, dank bud, earthiness and light grapefruit with a smooth dry bitter lingering dank finish.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2014 A citra IPA on steroids. For me this pretty much hits every mark for the citra dipa style. Formal review: Deep orangeish pour nice foamy white head. The smell is juicy with a limited malt sweetness and tons of citrus, melon, tropical. Like a mix of NvU with a suped-up ZD. The flavor is where this one is just awesome. A medium to high bitterness which has been absent on some other citra-based beers I have had. The flavor has some bitter citrus rind, tropical notes, almost berryness, and not much malt backbone, only enough to carry the hop flavors. IMO it gets more tropical as it warms. Really a citrus-forward ipa with a high bitterness. Love it a ton.

Great display of citra hop. Bottle from Binny’s-Skokie. Great drinking, with citrus hop well tamed for a DIPA.

Bottle... Mostly clear orange pour with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. I stick my nose into the glass and find a grapefruit rind/marijuana/sweaty armpit collection of odors. Well, at least there’s the grapefruit component to sort of "save the day." Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor provides a stream of malty toffee and caramel flowing alongside heavy, rindy, hop bitterness. Nicely-balanced overall, but the hops are really the stars of this show. Finishes modestly bitter, tongue-numbing and grassy. Big-time thanks to the always-generous BBB63 for floating this bottle my way!

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2012 Bottle @ home, courtesy of TheAlum. Thanks Adam! Pours a touch hazy, orange appearance with a lasting, cream colored head. Spicy, huge grapefruit ctirusy, somewhat resiny, light ganja hoppy, very pleasant aroma. Moderate garlic, light onion, grapefruity, potent, fresh resiny hoppy, marijuana, somewhat citrusy flavor. Really nice stuff. Thanks Adam!
