22 oz. bottle served in a Bellís tulip. Batch # 54. A: Pours a clear amber color with a light yellow head forming on the pour. It recedes slowly to a thin film and ring that leaves soapy lace down the glass. S: Big bursts of citrus. Orange flesh, lemon peel, and sticky grapefruit. Some sweet bread malts and a touch of bitter resin on the tail end. This smells ridiculously good. T: More grapefruit in the taste than the smell. Orange and lemon peel with some alcohol bite to it. There is a definite warming, but the booze and warmth doesnít detract from the overall flavor profile. Some light bready malts with a little bitter green as well. M: Medium bodied with a sticky and slightly oily mouthfeel, but it is surprising light on the finish with a high drinkability. O: This is by far the best thing Pipeworks has pumped out. We all know hops are in their wheelhouse, but their use of the Citra hops really shined in this. Juicy, citrusy and pleasantly sweet. Iím sure I speaking for everyone thatís tried when I say this has to be bottled on a consistent base. Serving type: bottle

Bottle. Many thanks to Rian for bringing this back from across the pond and sharing. Amber orange with an off white head. Pungent Citra and high alcohol mash aroma. Flavour is resinous, piny hops and sweet juicy alcoholic malts, in great balance. Carbonation is natural, lively but smooth. Excellent.

Hazy deep amber beer, good cream colour head. Mild skunk, orange and crystallised fruits on the nose. Palate is smooth but has good fine carbonation. Semi sweet creamy malts. Hop spice. Spicy orange. Orange resin. Marmalade and floralness. Trace of skunk. Smooth finish. Lovely stuff, would love to try one super fresh.

Poured from a bottle. Nice citrus, pineapple, and slight pine. Orange breaking golden on the edges with a pillowy white head that laces healthy. Good amount of sweetness that turns to a nice dry and bitter quality for balance.

Great display of citra hop. Bottle from Binnyís-Skokie. Great drinking, with citrus hop well tamed for a DIPA.

2/20/15. Sampled during RBWG 2015. Orange pour with a small khaki head, mild lacing. Nice aroma, pineapple, grapefruit, mild dank, some caramel and sugar poking through. Okay flavor, bitterness present, some tropical fruit aspects, caramel, sugar, maltiness. Not bad.

ARH (1093) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 30, 2015
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2016 22oz bottle poured into an IPA glass. The aroma is initially a strong herb and grass presence that fades into fruit stripe gum and other bright, sweet juicy tangerine and grapefruit notes with some mango. Late in the drink, the aroma turns to caramel as the fruit fades. It pours a brilliant amber with a slightly off-white, big foam head that has good retention and lace. The taste is a blend of Medium fruity sweet and a high, waxy bitter end with a light touch of sour. The texture is that of a heavy oil with a fuzzy carbonation and a medium full, bitter grapefruit rind and grass body with light notes of toast interspersed. The finish is crisp with a strong bitter pine and fruit crescendo thatís quick to clean leaving a fresh pine and spice along with a light bitter waxiness that lingers lightly and isnít cloying. The aftertaste is long but light with notes of bread crust and wax.

22oz bottle. Orange red color with a white head. Very hoppy citrus aroma. Heavy body. Hops and sweet malt flavor. Well balanced but flavor doesn't match aroma. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very sweet apricot aroma. Pours a medium orange brown, slightly hazy, lots of bubbles and good sustained head. Did not let Binnyís let this get warm. I took the cold bottle from their shelf and brought it home. Really good flavor with some really sweet aftertaste. Hops and sweetness - oh boy. No wonder the salesman was surprised they had some in stock. It was fresh off the truck, and boy is it delicious.
