3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: Pours black with a sudsy tan ring around the edges.
Aroma: Herbal hop nose, coffee roast, light wet dog.
Taste: Herbal and citrusy hops, bitter chocolate/bitter black coffee, chocolate orange. Alcohol fairly hidden.
Mouthfeel: Slick, full bodied, a little oily. Modest carbonation.
Overall: A pretty tasty hoppy stout, probably the best one Iíve tried to date. Iím starting to pick up on Pipeworks house character across all their stouts too.

Bottle. The pour is dark. The aroma is nice and malty, chocolate. The taste has subtle hops, but mostly just a roasty malt imperial stout, but good for one.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Thanks, Ed. Oily, super black pour with a fine bubbled, deep mocha foam. Aroma of plentiful dark malt, roasted barley, bitter cocoa beans, ashy hops, a touch of charred bitterness & woodsy notes with just a kiss of dried, dark fruit in the back. Taste is bitter chocolate... weíre talking 100% cacao, super-dark & roasty cocoa notes with a touch of dry coffee beans. Thereís a very faint milkiness that comes around mid-palate but the sweetness aspect is very small compared to the roast of this bad boy. Hint of anise in the finish with a lingering, bittersweet cocoa note on the palate. Lovely, creamy mouth feel. A very nice stout.

Great dark heavy body. Very carbonated. Not too keen on the smell. Wet musty aroma. Ooo, but tastes great. Over the top hopped stout is accurate. Dark chocolaty taste with a punch of hops. Yummy.
