The beer is black with dark maroon-ish brown edges. Small head, beige. The vanilla comes through clearly in the aroma. The coffee is more muddled than expected. It seems like a nice fruity coffee note, but it blends in quite a bit with the stout flavors. Lots of chocolate with a sweet caramel backbone. Very mildly fruity. Similar experience on the taste. Itís fairly sweet, though certainly not overwhelmingly so relative to other stouts of a similar strength. Moderate acidity. More roast than I picked up from the aroma. A bit more fruity dark malt flavor. Lots of caramel, a bit much for me mostly because it crowds out the chocolate some. Fruity, acidic coffee. Low-ish carbonation. Smooth, full mouthfeel. Good but not great coffee stout.

Bootle from trade. Pours a deep brown almost black with a scant tan head. Aromas of creamy vanilla coffee with dark fruits. Taste is lightly bitter and sweet. Flavors of iced coffee with vanilla flavor and whip cream. Not cloying, but still pretty sweet. Alcohol is well masked. Some dark fruit/twang, light tobacco. Finishes sweet and creamy. Pretty nice.

Bottle: Batch 248/250/252: Thanks Jdb288: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Beautiful creamy beige foamy head on top of a deep dark brown to black colored beer.
Aroma has some coffee notes (duh), roast, coffee roast, oatmeal roast, some wood roast, bay leaf roast... Very nice!
Flavours of roast, coffee, bitters, coffee beans, coffee roast, malt and oat roast, some raisin, prunes and brown sugars, some herbal roast and bay leaf.
Aftertaste is a mix of coffee, coffee sweets, coffee roast, light malt and malt roast with a bitter raisin edge.
Low carbo, light creamy mouthfeel, medium to fuller bodied and a light spiced light creamy light sticky texture.
For 10.5%ABV this is quite the drinker. Somewhat crisp and easy but very tasty. Nice!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ RBSG 2014 Grand Tasting. Black in color with a khaki head. Nose of coffee, mint leaves, and chocolate. Decent amount of vanilla and lots of cocoa powder. Of course, some roasted malts. Flavor has a nice bitterness to it, but fair amount of sweet vanilla and chocolate. Some dark fruits, plenty of roast, and bitter cocoa powder. Not bad.

22oz bomber. Brown black body, some translucent edges, the beige head that fades out pretty quick. You certainly get the added vanilla...it gives it a very sweet, sugary feel. A pretty good adjunct Imperial Stout....sort of like a Southern Tier beer but more centered around the additional flavors. As the bottle says, this is a Latte Stout. Tasty, but not really a beer I want to drink the whole bottle of. The vanilla-chocolate-coffee combination is massive, and there is some depth in that regard. Pretty mellow on the palate for 10.5%. Should lose points for the FIBalicious office white boy art, but Iíll try and forgive them for that.

Pours black. Tasted more like a sweet stout with some coffee apparent, but wasnít as dry or roasty as Iíd prefer. A bit sweet for my liking but others liked it better than I did.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted on 6/23/14 from a capped 22oz bomber bottle sent to me in a trade. Pours a very thick, nearly black, dark brown with a thick, smooth brown head that slowly recedes to a thick collar of lace. The nose is almost exactly like a mocha with a touch of vanilla, plenty of dark chocolate, deep, dark espresso, and plenty of roast with a hint of vanilla. The flavor is the same sweet-ish vanilla tinged mocha with tons of milky dark chocolate and bitter, deep espresso. The body is super full, one of the creamiest beers I have ever had, with average, but smooth carbonation, and a very long touch of vanilla, mocha finish.
