4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample from batch #112 at Kurtkeller 004: Pipeworks-tastic 01 on 01/18/2014. Inky black pour with a medium khaki head that diminishes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Coffee, roasted malt and dark chocolate in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of roast coffee, semi-bitter chocolate and caramel. The finish is roasty with a coffee aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Big fan of this beer. Batch 66, had it in the cellar for a few years. Amazing stout, really taste the vanilla followed by the coffee. Like drinking a vanilla latte almost. Really smooth, really good.

chocolate, coffee, roasty, vanilla, smoke, black, brown foam, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, full body, creamy, thick feel, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish. Pretty darn good coffee stout, one of the more creamer coffee stouts out there, like the vanilla behaves as a creamer to the coffee. Seek out if you love coffee.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours opaque black, little red on the edges, and a small fizzy tan head. A lot of molasses sweet dark fruits on the nose, brown sugar, vanilla bean, roasty coffee, and milk chocolate. Bitter, dark coffee and dark fruits up front on the taste, dark chocolate, brown sugar and caramel, toasted coconut, and ripe fruit. Really tasty, though the coffee seemed very muted.

dark brown. lots of coffee and vanilla. Taste is okay but very peppery, like duct tape and very bad coffee. seriously, having all 4 abductions side by side, what in the heck, guys? Why are these so bad?

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
In short: A basic big coffee stout. Just ok.
How: Bottle 22oz, post-HF FoFA 2013.
The look: Black body topped by a small tan head.
In long: The strong nose is intense used coffee filter along with some charcoal. In mouth the beer offers a thick heavy body that is carbonated enough. Taste is overcooked caramel, old cup of black coffee, mild vanilla notes. A bit of a boiled vegetables flavor developing from the high roast. A straightforward coffee stout which unfortunately didn’t offer a fun coffee character, too much like used coffee filter instead of nice roasted coffee beans. Decent beer but slightly below average for the style. And on a more linguistic note, I think Abduction is too strong of a word when talking about kidnapping of a young children, I prefer to call it Surprise Adoption.

Bottle... Pitch black ale with a small, creamy, fleeting, off-white head. The nose features acrid, deeply-roasted coffee and gobs of fudge. Full-bodied and ϋber velvety with tickling carbonation. Roasty, bittersweet, mocha flavor. Lengthy, bittersweet, espresso finish. Bottle courtesy of BBB63!
