3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
9th December 2013
Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Opaque dark brown beer with a decent pale tan head. Palate is slightly viscous and a little soft. Smooth dark malt and dark malt cream well integrated with smooth coffee and a touch of dark fruits. Smooth finish. Good stuff from this very good brewer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - Pours pretty dark with a ring of tan bubbly head. Nose is milky with some coffee and some lightly roasted dark malt. Taste is the same--roasty finish and a little pepper heat (?). Medium-bodied and well-carbonated. Good, but I was expecting more based on what I’ve heard about this one.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle with a big thanks to Ken. Pours dark brown with a small off white head which quickly disappears. Nose is big and bitter espresso, vanilla essence and pepper and spice. Taste is very espresso like, moderate dates, big tobacco, rich and burnt brown sugar sweetness. Very ashy. Balanced ok for a big coffee beer. Not bad

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours thick, dark black like oil without much of a head. The aroma brings smooth delicious roasted coffee and some smooth booze. The body is creamy, not too full, with big flavors of coffee and smooth spicy malts, almost like bourbon barrel going on here.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted coffee sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where surpassed with a solid drinkable beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle shared by alexsdad06- thanks, Brad! Pours a coffee brown color with a small beige head. Aroma of coffee, earth, dark chocolate, leaves, and some roasted malts. Flavor of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, fudge, and molasses. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, roasty, earthy mouthfeel and low carbonation. Simple and straightforward and seems to hit the right notes. But still, something fell a little flat for me here. It just doesn’t pop like the regular Abduction, which is outstanding.
