Aroma of roasted malt, wood, whiskey, vanilla, dark chocolate. Strong alcoholic whiskey taste with roasted malt and chocolate, fruity finish, with a robust roast and wood aftertaste. Beats the Danish Red Wine edition.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by the guys. Thanks! Pours a deep black with a dark brown head. The nose is nice, shows a big hit of creamy coffee, on the mellower cocoa side. Some roasted barley and toasted malt as well. Light hopping. On tasting, the coffee is much weaker. Some faint ashy notes, char and cocoa. Herbal coffee. Would like a bigger hit of coffee flavor to match up with the nose. Decent. Bit thinnish body.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to FullObs. Batch 248/250/252, about 4 months old. Pours very dark brown with a small head that quickly fades to a thin ring. Aroma is nice fresh light roasted coffee, some light sweet lactose, vanilla, cocoa, and caramel. Coffee is the dominant taste and there’s a great sweet/bitter balance. Chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and light burnt wood make it through well too. Solid coffee stout that hides the high abv very well.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle. Thanks to the guys... Pours with a slight stillness upfront with a deeper stouty black hue, lesser intense edges with auburn tones and topped with a thin wispy medium khaki head... Aroma of of chocolate and coffee notes upfront, sweet molasses and brown sugar through the middle. Coffee is most dominant with the chocolates fudge aspects not too far behind... Flavors are more of the same with a foreboding sweetness through the middle as well as through the finish where a light bitter astringency fortunately cuts through. Earthy and fuller bodied with an adequate level of carbonation.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bottle from Binny’s Lincoln Park. Batch #66. Pours a black body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is pretty awesome. Lots of espresso and fresh coffee, but plenty of the base to keep things balanced. Rich chocolates, resiny and citrusy pine hops, roasts, and a bit of a vanilla cream showing up. Flavor is big and bold with lots of espresso, citrusy pine hops, rich milky and dark chocolates, roasts, and some more vanilla cream. Finishes moderately bitter with lots of citrus pines, plenty of coffee, a good amount of roasts, and lots of plump chocolates. Lengthy aftertaste following a full, very smooth body and a creamy, medium-light carbonation. Overall, this was pretty damn good and by far my favorite from these guys yet. Big and rich with plenty of citrusy hops and roasts from the original, but lots of coffee that compliments the base extremely well while never overpowering. Drink this one fresh to get the most out of it. Awesome beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - Pours pretty dark with a ring of tan bubbly head. Nose is milky with some coffee and some lightly roasted dark malt. Taste is the same--roasty finish and a little pepper heat (?). Medium-bodied and well-carbonated. Good, but I was expecting more based on what I’ve heard about this one.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours thick, dark black like oil without much of a head. The aroma brings smooth delicious roasted coffee and some smooth booze. The body is creamy, not too full, with big flavors of coffee and smooth spicy malts, almost like bourbon barrel going on here.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Deep brown, nearly black color with a toasted beige head, slightly frothy, creamy, & quick to recede. Aroma of French pressed, French roast coffee. Very rich, deep, dark, & semi-bitter. A touch of dark malt sweetness balances the huge roasted aromas, but also adds another element of char in the periphery. Body on this one is super creamy, velvety, chewy, & silky... Wow, excellent mouth feel. Huge coffee flavor up front. Good mix of "bitter-roast" & "creamy-sweet". A touch of booze, licorice, dark cacao bean, & plum hangs around the outside, but roasted coffee beans are certainly the star of the show. Really nice coffee beer.
