3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Belgian-pour produces a huge, creamy multi-hued tan head that slowly dissipates. The smell is nice, coffee, brownies, roasted malt. Mouthfeel is thick and viscous. Flavor is bittersweet through and through. Ashy coffee and malts, a bit of booze. I like the ashy astringency but the high sugary booze character blending with it can be too much at times. A solid beer htough. I think the cherry oak treatment of this beer was the best so far.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, big thanks to Adrian from BA for sharing! It pours darkest brown with a small light tan head. The nose is big on the coffee, roasted malt, cocoa, dark fruit, light acidity, salted caramel and vanilla. The taste is roasted malt, coffee, alcohol heat, touch of chilli, wood, some acidity and earth with a dry, roasty finish. Medium-full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Perhaps a bit hot. Gets better the more you drink. Decent, but I couldn’t drink too much.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours black with a very dark brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma is mainly coffee and espresso with a bit of dark chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor starts with coffee but mellows to allow a nice dark roasted malt note to come out that is complimented by some dark chocolate.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2013 Sample from a bottle at DLD 2013. Black body. Minimal khaki head. Couple dots of lace. Smooth, chewier texture. Nice big coffee aroma. Moderate roast. Good big bitterness. Super stuff. 8/4/8/4/17
Re-rate, 12/5/13: 22oz bottle, shared by a local alexsdad06. Batch 248-252. Black color. Thin light brown head. Some loose bits of lace. Smooth, chewy lighter carbonation. Bigger body. Great dark bitter chocolate, and bigger coffee. Truffle chocolate fudge. Awesome big bitter taste, light sweet. Fantastic coffee imperial stout, though a little sweet in the finish. Would prefer more bitter. Light hint of metallic. Good coffee vanilla stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle shared by alexsdad06- thanks, Brad! Pours a coffee brown color with a small beige head. Aroma of coffee, earth, dark chocolate, leaves, and some roasted malts. Flavor of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, fudge, and molasses. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, roasty, earthy mouthfeel and low carbonation. Simple and straightforward and seems to hit the right notes. But still, something fell a little flat for me here. It just doesn’t pop like the regular Abduction, which is outstanding.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled. Pours deep black with a creamy beige head. The aroma is quite hoppy with a decent amount of coffee. Some roast and light chocolate. The flavor has stronger notes of coffee than the aroma and notes of hops and roasted malt hits you later on. Bitter roasted coffee bean finish. Great.
