Bottled. Pours deep black with a creamy beige head. The aroma is quite hoppy with a decent amount of coffee. Some roast and light chocolate. The flavor has stronger notes of coffee than the aroma and notes of hops and roasted malt hits you later on. Bitter roasted coffee bean finish. Great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650 ml bottle.
Pours a black colour with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, espresso, vanilla and biscuit. Flavour of roasted malts, strong espresso, grassy hops, floral notes, vanilla and biscuit. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and a roasty, biscuity, salty finish. Very smooth and roasty with strong bitterness. Great stuff.

Pours a deep brown .. mild foam .. . rich coffee and roasty .. . low mouth enjoyment .. . good but needs work .. . I bought a decaffeinated coffee table, you can’t even see a difference.

22 oz bottle shared with the group. Pours a dark cola brown to black with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have nice roasted malt, strong coffee, some chocolate, alcohol is warming but doesn’t play much in the flavor. Solid treatment.

65 cl bottle @ home, Batch #74?, bottled 14.01.2013
Aroma has mocha coffee, some jalopeno‐like vegetables, chocolate and hints of licorice. Flavour has mocha, ashy notes, soy sauce and salty licorice. Rather smooth and silky palate. Too salty but definitely not bad anyway.

Bottle and served in my Pipeworks snifter: Pours a deep brown with some ruby highlights topped by a beautiful tan frothy head and some lace. The aroma smacks you upside the head with charred coffee beans and a touch of chocolate, tobacco and leather, some resiny, juicy and catty hops that complement the roast. Just a touch of boozy esters too. Really it smells like a Coffee Black IPA and that is a good thing!

The taste is full force coffee, chocolate, walnuts, resiny fruity hops and a earthy undertones. It is like someone amped up Coffee Stout with more alcohol and more hops. This is a time when I am all onboard with the hop selection versus malt, UTTERLY YUMMY STUFF HERE! The mouth feel is oily but not sticky, a bit metallic on the finish. Move over Founders for Breakfast Stout has some company at the morning table. Great Job Guys for taking a very good Impy and making it even better!! My favorite brew behind North & Western and ahead of N vs U!
