65cl bottle, served in Duvel cup. Pours pitch black with medium brown creamy head. Complex aroma: roasted malts, caramel, coffee and hints of vanilla and grape. Strong taste: more roasted malts and cooffe than the aroma, very little sweetness. Some hops on the palate. Creamy mouthfeel, good carbonation. Good beer.

Bottle... Pitch black ale with a small, creamy, fleeting, off-white head. The nose features acrid, deeply-roasted coffee and gobs of fudge. Full-bodied and ϋber velvety with tickling carbonation. Roasty, bittersweet, mocha flavor. Lengthy, bittersweet, espresso finish. Bottle courtesy of BBB63!

Pour dark with a sticky and gradually dissipating khaki head. The aroma is malty sweet and of roasted coffee, mild booze, vanilla notes, and cocoa. In the flavor it seems to have mirrored the scent. I picked on stronger intensities of vanilla, carmel malts, and semi bitter cocoa. The finish pleasantly lingers of rich mix ingredients and impacts my palate mildly. Overall worth having for any coffee stout fan.

Black pour nice tan head with light sticky lacing .... Aroma of coffee and not as sweet as regular abduction which is a bonus, roasted malts and caramel malts with some dark fruits .... Taste is of bitter roasted coffee, chocolate, dark fruits and some sweet lactose .... Has a bitter bite to it .... Mouthfeel is slick and oily with a lingering roasted coffee finish ... Nice fresh roasted coffee qualities, abv hidden well and has a softness to it

Bootle from trade. Pours a deep brown almost black with a scant tan head. Aromas of creamy vanilla coffee with dark fruits. Taste is lightly bitter and sweet. Flavors of iced coffee with vanilla flavor and whip cream. Not cloying, but still pretty sweet. Alcohol is well masked. Some dark fruit/twang, light tobacco. Finishes sweet and creamy. Pretty nice.

22 oz bottle from Printers Row (Chicago, IL). Pours a thick blackish opaque pour. A black brownish pour is deep, dark, thick with a motor oil-esque feel. Small brownish head dies to a ring, laces small overall. Deep hues and body. Aromas are a good deal of coffee, roasty and earthy, some more secondary espresso like vibrancy of flavors, gentle yet firm vanilla bean. Cocoa, coffee, and roast. Caramel and toffee, biscuits. Some gentle red and dark fruit make a mellow appearance but much more secondary than it is in base Abduction. Nose asserts itself a little more as it settles in the glass. Quite pleasant, more restrained than some of the big brooding Coffee RIS options but nice. Initial is some more cherry elements, black cherry, richer coffee, roast, and espresso hit the palate, some vanilla. Biscuits, thicker black and toffee malts. Cocoa, caramel, and biscuits. A fuller body has some mellow carbonation, could use a bit more. The middle and backend make an appearance of that red fruit and medicinal cough syrupy feel I personally get with Abduction. The coffee element killed it out up front, but into the backend the coffee mixes with that presence. Jabs of coffee, espresso, vanilla, roast, and thicker sticky malts. At times that cough syrup feel interferes for me a bit. A touch of dryness at times, roast, toast. Some cocoa, coffee jabs firmly at times, let’s the Abduction base show more at others. A bit hot, touches of cough syrup on the backend in and out, mixing with a good coffee vibe, toast, thicker big malts, some dryness and a touch of ash or coolness. I’d call this an improvement over regular Abduction.. But the cough syrup feel really hits me with this beer. The oaked and barrel aged versions seem to kill that for me though (from homebrew stuff and FoBAB) and make a markedly higher scoring beer for me. Better than the original but maybe this just isn’t my type of RIS. Solid offering.. Coffee gives some fun and enjoyable flavors. Cool or cough syrupy feel into the backend is improved but still present from the original.

Bottle. Pours black with a very dark brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma is mainly coffee and espresso with a bit of dark chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor starts with coffee but mellows to allow a nice dark roasted malt note to come out that is complimented by some dark chocolate.
