3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at Nieuwjaarsborrel thanks to Mrhangover. Pours dark brown with a minimal tan head. Aroma of alcohol, chocolate, fudge, caramel and cinnamon. Flavour is heavy sweet. Really boozy feeling with the chillis coming out in the palate and leaving a warming finish. Medium to full bodied with light carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ Nieuwjaarsborrel 2014, courtesy of me! Near gusher. Pours a very black beer withouth any head. The little head that is on there is brown colored and disappears direclty. Aroma is boozy, malty, burnt sugar, touches of vanilla going on here, Flavor is very sweet, hence the name ’sweet stout’. Sweetness is overwhelming, loads of chocolate and vanilla going on next to the alcohol. Medium long, sweet aftertaste. A bit unbalanced, yet still very nice to drink!

Bottle @ Nieuwjaarsborrel 2014, hosted by MrHangover. Red wax version. Black pour. Aroma is quite yeasty, roasted malts, chocolate, cinnamon, licorice and somewhat boozy, especially given the low abv. Flavor is very sweet and smooth chocolate malts. Very smooth texture and well drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark coffee brownish black unclear with a big caramel head. It is a bit overcarbonated. The aroma brings a juicy, fresh cut pepper/chile, that really is what dominates the nose. Flavor has the ancho chile as the dominating presence as well, light vanilla roasted malts as undertones. The body is smooth, not as creamy as I would like, but right on for a sweet stout.
