3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from a trade. Slightly misses the mark in my book - but a good beer. A little thin on the palate, but the sweetness lingers.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
As it warms some aromas of chili come out with some hints of cocoa. Pour is medium brown, slightly translucent. After letting it warm, initial flavor of coffee and then follows with some heat from the chiles. Slight amount of heat in this one, not overpowering but very well balanced and very enjoyable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark black pour, fairly thin. Lots of carbonation, nice tan head. Chocolate and chili in the nose, and again in the taste. Sweet, but not overbearing. Quite nice.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber shared with friends at Sybarite Pig. Red Wax, not sure what batch. This one was a slight gusher and possibly infected. The milk lactose flavor was a tad sour which sort of ruined the experience for me.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz bottle. Dark brown with tan froth. Nose is coffee, chocolate, vanilla bean and light chili. Medium to full body with a tang and building spicy heat. Taste is chocolate, vanilla and caramel. The cinnamon adds a sweet note transitioning nicely to the bite of the ancho. All the ingredients play a part with none too dominant, the cinnamom less so. Cool brew.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Quite spicy with strong milk chocolate flavors. Has flavors of cinnamon and roasted barley and very little head or lacing. Slightly thin body that seems more like that of a porter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Really not getting much sweet stout. More of a chipotle porter. Thin body, spicy pepper. Decent stuff but nothing special

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle from Shane. Consumed April 21st, reviewed from notes.
A: Pour brings out a dull opaque mahogany body with a fizzing mocha head. Head then diminishes into a thin ring. Can see some of the carbonation showing at the surface.
N: A bracing nose of vanilla, chocolate, and cinnamon. Roasted malt and coffee. Spice from the anchos shows upon closer inspection. Hints of caramel.
T: Heavy spice from the anchos. There’s a moderate mixture of sweetness from the malts and some hop bitterness. However, there isn’t quite enough here to stand up to the chilies and that’s a shame.
M: Oily, medium mouthfeel. Milk stout lends a pleasant smoothness and alcohol is hidden.
O: A decent beer, but it doesn’t explode with flavors like I’d hope. I get a lot of pepper and not much of the ancillary flavors.
