UPDATED: JUN 24, 2012 Bottle via funkyaudio! Dark mahogany, just missing ebony, pour with a dense latte head. Loads of cocoa, fudge, brownie batter, cinnamon, and chili pepper. Decent amount of capsiason and lactos...definitely get some heat and spice. Not the darkest or most aromatic but well rounded and interesting.

Pours deep brown with notes of dusted cocoa and dark chocolate. A nice smooth mouthfeel that shows the dense sweet malts and the chocolate syrup notes with a spiced chocolate finish. Does not drink hot or like its higher ABV.

Pipeworks end of days. Batch 2. Thanks fellas... Cola deep brown pour, slightly lighter towards the edges. Little head... Aroma of vanilla, fudge and a moderate spice chili pepper quality... Flavors are more of the same with fudgey chocolate, spice, and vanilla to pair alongside a medium bodied apparently bigger than the previous. Nice pepper sensation without the heat and i could do for either. Semi-sweet. Nice. 8/3/8/4/15

Pours dark black with a beige head. A lot of cotton candy and red licorice in the aroma. Doughy sweet and enticing. The sweet milk stout is underneath a good dose of pepper/ cinnamon spice and bubblegum flavors. The spicyness is significant and enjoyable. Not much heat, but enough spice to make it interesting. The base beer may be a bit sweet, but the spice gives a good counterbalance.

Bottle with the boys. Tried side by side with the first batch. This is so much better, it’s almost laughable. Pours a deep brown-black with a tan head. The nose is cinnamon, vanilla, guajillo pepper and a hint of smoke. Cocoa also comes through very nicely. On tasting, there is a pleasant burn at the front, more of the cocoa and vanilla and perfumey cinnamon. All well integrated. Medium-full bodied here and creamy, this stuff is outstanding and just fantastic.

Bottle. Pours black with small tan head around the rim. Aroma is loaded with cocoa nibs but a nice woody ancho helps to balance it, vanilla adds complexity to the sweetness, with a touch of rum raisin. Flavors are a great mix of heat and cocoa nibs, vanilla comes through nicely too, heat lingers long to basically the perfect level - good ancho flavor and heat that lasts without burning. The only issue is here is the head falls fast perhaps the oils from the vanilla beans. Really enjoyable experience and much improved from the first batch.

22 oz bottle from Printer’s Row (Chicago, IL). Grabbed these after work this week for consumption this weekend. This might need to be classified into the Imperial category at a girth 8.2% ABV. Pours a deep brownish black hue, dancing dark character, opaque dark body for me in this light with touches of brownish glow at the edges. A frothy tannish head atop dies to a decent layer and laces fairly well. Aromas are fairly rich, more pronounced malt play than the original with pepper and spice still taking a firm graps, but some vanilla, cinnamon, and cocoa coming into the fold. Roasted malts, toffee, and mellow coffee earthy roast. Toast, biscuits. Very nice. Initial is firm to fuller bodied, offering sweeter toffee and vanilla and firm roast, toast, and cocoa elements quickly. A touch bitter, as that twang of chili heat starts to grow on the palate, cautiously but steady. Mellow growing to firm heat, not outdone as the middle shows cocoa, sticky sweet malts, and roasty elements. The vanilla and cinnamon spices integrate well, with a more firm body than the original, not giving way to as much peppery spice and heat. Backend and finish show more lingering spice, cocoa and roast. Dryness and bitter chocolate, roasty elements and lingering heat play well. A marked improvement over the original for me. Flavors are rich, body provides a bit more girth to support the chilis better. Nice work, guys.

Deep dark with a rich khaki head, the aroma is fantastic and gives away a bit of the subtle cinnamon flavor. Tastes sweet delicious and achieves excellent balance of cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa and then the heat rises up smoothly and almost out of nowhere for an amazing finish. A fantastic beer.
