4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a dense black with brown edges.
The nose has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, cinnamon and some chili.
This beer is like a mullet, all the party’s in the back. Up front it is a pretty straight forward milk stout with hints of chocolate and roasted malt but the finish has a great hit of chili, cinnamon and other spices that really balance out the sweetness.
It has a full mouthfeel with a slightly sticky/chewy mouth feel.
I’m glad the world didn’t end so I can keep drinking this one!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ Nieuwjaarsborrel 2014, courtesy of me! Near gusher. Pours a very black beer withouth any head. The little head that is on there is brown colored and disappears direclty. Aroma is boozy, malty, burnt sugar, touches of vanilla going on here, Flavor is very sweet, hence the name ’sweet stout’. Sweetness is overwhelming, loads of chocolate and vanilla going on next to the alcohol. Medium long, sweet aftertaste. A bit unbalanced, yet still very nice to drink!
