3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle shared by Bunker. Pours dark brown/black with a small disappearing beige head. The aroma has roasted malt, chocolate, spices, peppers and dark fruits. The flavor has roasted malts, chocolate dark fruits, vanilla, and a slow hitting pepper spice. Perhaps a touch thin, but nice flavor.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Quite spicy with strong milk chocolate flavors. Has flavors of cinnamon and roasted barley and very little head or lacing. Slightly thin body that seems more like that of a porter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Really not getting much sweet stout. More of a chipotle porter. Thin body, spicy pepper. Decent stuff but nothing special

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle from Shane. Consumed April 21st, reviewed from notes.
A: Pour brings out a dull opaque mahogany body with a fizzing mocha head. Head then diminishes into a thin ring. Can see some of the carbonation showing at the surface.
N: A bracing nose of vanilla, chocolate, and cinnamon. Roasted malt and coffee. Spice from the anchos shows upon closer inspection. Hints of caramel.
T: Heavy spice from the anchos. Thereís a moderate mixture of sweetness from the malts and some hop bitterness. However, there isnít quite enough here to stand up to the chilies and thatís a shame.
M: Oily, medium mouthfeel. Milk stout lends a pleasant smoothness and alcohol is hidden.
O: A decent beer, but it doesnít explode with flavors like Iíd hope. I get a lot of pepper and not much of the ancillary flavors.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
pours a very murky dark brown. Smells of chocolate, cinnamon, and spice. Taste start off with a very smooth dark chocolate, then cinnamon and then the chile hits on the back end. Thereís a nice tingly spice that youíre left with. I really liked this.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from BA eorwar. Thanks! Thick, deep black pour with tan head. Nose is rich with dark, semi-sweet chocolate. Light notes of spice and a touch of plastic. Flavor is initially a lightly sweet lactose, chocolate, and roasted malt that quickly fades to low-grade cinnamon/pepper heat. Flavors are muddled in the beginning, but even out with further drinking. Heat/spiciness also builds, but only to moderate level. Nice thickened mouthfeel. Overall, a bit too choppy for me, but certainly drinkable.

Bomber batch 29 thanks to Pawola22, pours a dark brown/black with a small tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, raspberry, with molasses, and vanilla. Taste of milk chocolate, fruits, slight cinnamon, and spice. Kind of thin, not bad but Iím not to crazy or impressed with this one.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Batch # 62. Black pour with a light tan head. Sweet chocolate aroma with vanilla in the back. Taste was chocolate, vanilla and spicy pepper finishing it out. As I drank, the pepper aftertaste gets more serious, a little heat on the palate. Can taste a little cinnamon in the finish. The head disappeared but that doesnít matter. The beer is complex and damn tasty. The beer clings to the glass. Well done.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from batch #29 shared by a friend. Brownish-black pour with a medium thin tan head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, malt and a bit of spice. Medium-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, raisins and subtle chili peppers. The finish is malty with a mild peppery aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
I found this beer to be unique, exciting, and exactly what I was in the mood for at the time. You can taste the cacao and the chile peppers- but it also still tastes like beer (I.e. itís not flavored to the point that its not recognizable as beer, a criticism many lob at flavored beers like pumpkin ales, etc). It receives a very high score from me mostly due to its uniqueness and its agreement with my personal taste. But such a bold and brave beer deserves to be rewarded. A friend desrcibed it was a party in oneís mouth, and sheís rit even though thatís a litrle clichť and juvenile. If you donít like Mexican hot chocolate, you likely wonít like this beer; if you donít like beer, you likely wonít like this beer (or be on this website). If flavored beers arenít your thing, you may only give this a medium score. But it was a privilege to taste this beer and will remain a personal favorite for me. Definitely requires long sips, or youíll miss a lot. Enough to make me a lifelong fan of Pipeworks.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
650 ml bottle. Pours a totally black color with a small brown head. A nose of roast, cocoa, some ash. A big flavor with chocolate, chillies are throughout but not massive, more of a mole mix, some cinnamon, vanilla. Very good. Mellow at times. Green chillies. The more I think about the mole the more it makes sense.
