4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 madvike (2090) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle (batch 74) from Tooch...thanks Adam! - Pours cloudy straw yellow with a thin ring of foamy white head. Nose is lightly soured wheat, a bit of lemony tartness and a touch of hay. Taste is clean and lemony tart, mineral dryness, and a touch of soured wheat. Really refreshing and quenching, and the tartness really melds well with the wheat. Nice carbonation with a little fluffy body. Way better than the fruited berliners that Pipeworks has pumped out--I’d drink this stuff all day.

Pale yellow pour with a white head. Interesting nose. Kind of floral and herbal with light lemon and acetic tartness. Popcorn, cider, wheat, and grass. Some mild sweetness. The flavor is lightly sweet and just light in general. Grassy, floral, and a bit herbal. Mild lemon zest, citrus, and cider vinegar.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sammy (7041) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 22, 2013
Something different fof Pipeworks, Americo’s bottle. Great hoppy aroma. A creamy head on dark brown. Some chocolate, roasty taste with citrus in the finish. Was expecting more significant sourness in the style.I can only speculate that they pruporsely concentrated on these other elements.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 solidfunk (1820) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 21, 2013
Thanks to America for this. Like Peter said, aroma is like sourkraut. Pours white and chunky. Aroma of soft wheat, some cider and some grapefruit. Well balanced. Finishes a little sour. Thick consistency.

Bottle shared with friends. Another berliner that totally surprised and blew me away. Tart and slightly sour. Good lemon zest mixed with slight floral hints. Pure goodness!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 drowland (4998) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - APR 13, 2013
During RBWG 2013, thanks to yhgtbsm, I gather. Milky yellow pour with a big off-white head. Creamy funk, yeast, and dabs of lemon tartness in the aroma as well as that doughy, wheaty malt aspect. Tart, doughy flavor with some sugary sweetness. Not bad.

Batch 74. Pours a merky lemonade color with fizzy head. Aroma is slight lemon rind and the smell of Lemonheads . Taste is lemony acetic sour. Not overpowering sour but a little more than I’d like if I was drinking a lot of it. Very nice beer to have on a hot afternoon on the porch.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hopscotch (8217) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 7, 2013
Bottle... This beer rocks!... Murky coconut milk-colored beer with a small, fleeting, fizzy, white head. The aroma is yeasty, but otherwise perfectly clean. Light to medium-bodied with a seltzer mouthfeel and carbonation. The flavor is all about clean acidity and breadiness. Crisp, tart, clean finish. This should be every brewery’s base Berliner weisse. World class wheat beer!
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 StefanSD (1797) - Lakeside, California, USA - APR 7, 2013
750 ml bottle courtesy of marco. Thanks. Pours a cloudy yellow color with small white head that has good retention. The aroma is very mild with some citrus, light funk and yeast. The taste is slightly tart with a good lemon flavor set in a bready malt base that, like the nose, has a touch of yeast. The palate is full and smooth with soft carbonation. Finishes medium in duration with lingering sweet-sour lemons. Overall: New style? Chicago Weisse? Subtle and tasty, I wish more brewers would try this approach.
