3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle and served in my Pipeworks snifter: Pours a deep brown hue with some deep amber highlights topped by a small fading fizzy head (honestly being a wheat beer I did expect more head retention) and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of roast, chocolate, lime leaves, Acetaldehyde, coffee, debittered black malt (perhaps Midnight Wheat?), grassy and herbal noble hops and a hint of walnut as the beer warms. The taste is a combination of sweet chocolate, hazelnut, mild coffee and generic hop bitterness. Smooth and well balanced with a noticeable de-bittered character and a mild green apple twang. I rather enjoyed the flavor profile outside the twangy character. The mouth feel is smooth as stated already but I did again expected a tad more body since it suppose to be wheat, almost over-attenuated methinks. I hint of alcohol as well. Yeah, I am being a bit hyper critical and picky, so despite these comments I did enjoy the overall product but was left wanting a bit more. Like many beers (outside the fantastic NvsU), I am sure the guys will tweak the new recipe next time. Yep, just a tweak is all that is needed here IMO. (Hope Scott heals soon...)

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, 22oz. A slow gusher. Itís an almost black one, topped by a dense, collapsing light beige head. The aroma has a touch of sourness, with roasted malts, some chocolate and dried fruits. Thereís a sour touch in the flavor, with roasted malts and dark chocolate, some dried fruits too. Full-bodied and faintly warming, semi-sweet, with a pleasant carbonation level. Disappointing this one, but not bad. 131116

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
All black Porter, beige and downy head leaving some laces on the glass. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate with fruity notes, walnut stain, a little smoke. Sparkling mouth, the beer rolls on the tongue, chocolaty with coffee-mocha, acidulity of wheat but stay soft-malted with dark fruits and an average body. Caramelized sweetness, bitterness of roasted and hop, ashes and chocolate truffle in finale.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 65 cl. Pours a hazy, orangey with a VERY lively, beige head. The head indicates a rather aggressive carbonation. Lovely roast in the nose, combined with rotten fruit - a plus in my book! Thick and jammy body, heavily carbonated but gets better after a little rest. Roasty, some ashes and tar - some smoked malts in there - peat even? Never too much though. Some warming alcohol heat in the finish and a decent shot of hops. Very enjoyable. But turn down the carbo please. 161013

65 cl bottle @ Timo A. Batch #68.
Pours dark brown color with a large beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, mild wheat, spice notes, some faint coffee and vegetable notes also. Flavor of sweet caramel, cocoa, coffee, mild spices and faint wheat. Strong carbonation, very long sweet caramelly palate with a weird cola-like feel. Decent though.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650 ml bottle, thanks olio. Pours a black colour with a beigeish head. Aroma of roasted malts, licorice and spruce. Flavour of strong roasty malts, cream, bubblegum, grassy bitterness, salt and wheat. Medium bodied, thick mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes roasty and a bit sweet. Good.
