4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Schokoladiger Antrunk, intensive Malzigkeit. Gut! 11/12/12/14/12/14

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Joes. Opaque pitch black color, small light brown head. Aroma is malts, liquorice, sweeter than I had expected. Taste malts, again more sweet than I expected, sugary, lightly a bitter touch but overall it is way sweeter than I had expected. Medium body and carbonation. Decent, but I expected better.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Ed. Deep brown, edging on black, no head or even a ring at all... Carbonation? Aroma full of lactose & chocolate malt, a touch of roast, dark malt, & a hint of char. Taste is a little roastier but still carries a heavy underbody of sweetness, cream, & chocolate malt. A little milky mid-palate. Some dark fruity notes, approaching tartness territory, leading to a finish reminiscent of roasted peanut brittle & chocolate donuts. Some astringency. The dark fruit tartness doesn’t fit here, & the beer’s a little astringent & thin in the finish... Fix those issues & this could be a real winner. Otherwise, a decent stout.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate roast, lighter chocolate, caramel, and a touch of vanilla. It pours a dark brown with some faint orange highlights and a small tan head. The flavor starts with chocolate, caramel, and a touch of plum. The finish has light-moderate roasted, light espresso, and a touch of vanilla. It’s medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This was a great beer, pours pitch black with little to no tan head, smells of chocolate, a bit vanilla and loads of caramel malts. The taste is bitter chocolate up front with some coffee notes and then mellows into a sweet chocolate/vanilla/malty cocktail with a slight alcohol finish to warm up the body.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from 22oz bomber, pours a very dark brown almost red hint with an off white head, aroma is of roasted malt with a hint of chocolate and a little bit of vanilla sweetness, the flavor is pretty big and sweet with a lot of the vanilla coming through in the finish, really big and sweet, pretty boozy as well, wax dip this and put it in a barrel and it might make the top 50, but this, meh.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some chocolate, vanilla, lactose, light soy sauce notes, hints of dark fruits, and light dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not the best because of the hints of soy sauce, but not bad either.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
A: Real dark and thick. The head is relatively small with an off white head.
S: Milk chocolate upfront with some vanilla coming in but finishes with a weird plastic like quality. Some roasted coffee also makes a presence.
T: Again milk chocolate upfront, with some roasted sweetness. Nice traces of vanilla. Some coffee again as well with faint plastic. Some noticeable alcohol
M: Really smooth oily and creamy. Real appealing on the tongue and goes down really well. A bit sweet but expected with a milk stout. Medium-Full body.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with late awakening, small to average, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Chocolately and minimally roasty dark malty aroma, dry and oily cocoa, a liquorice note which gains ever more weight with the beer warming up. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, notes of salty liquorice, a touch of soy sauce and leather; perfectly hidden alcohol. Light for an Impy Stout in general and its abv a fortiori, relatively monotonous as well.
