Bottle gift from SJ. A nice stout with typical roasted malt, chocolate, moleasses, coffee taste. Nice full body, but just didn’t wow me. At this stage of the game I need something more than typical.

Black colour with a frothy light beige head with medium lasting. Aroma has notes of dark chocolate, strong coffee and some roasted notes. Flavor is slightly sweet with roasted notes, some licorice and dark coffee hints with notes of prunes. Some roasted notes in the final with ashes hints and very light sweetness.

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2014 Bottle. Pours black with brown head. Nose and taste of cocoa nib, toasted walnut, milk sugar, cherry cough syrup, vanilla extract and chocolate pudding. Medium body. Huge disappointment. I was expecting more.

Sample at Binnys tasting. Toasty cocoa and vanilla aroma. Taste is more vanilla than anything else. Light on the lactose, the regular version had way too much. medium body for an imperial. Does not taste like 10%

Bottle @ The HUGE Tasting. Cheers to whoever brought this along! The pour’s brown with a small head. Oatmeal cookies. Mellow coffee. Rich roasted malts. The taste is cherry skin. Mild toasted shag tobacco. Some rocky road fudge. Full body, soft carbonation. Solid, though not spectacular.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of prunes, over ripe fruits, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, prunes, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.
