Big thanks to StFun for this one. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a creamy white head. Nose shows pineapple and lots of Belgian esters. Lots of overripe fruit juice. Super pineapple-y with some doughy notes. Heavy interaction between the hops and the Belgian yeast.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rated on 7-27-2013. Batch #122 (Bottle) This beer pours a small white head that mostly diminished, hazy body, no visible carbonation, and a golden hue. The Aroma is malty, spicy, grapefruit, pine, and floral hops. This beer taste malty, lightly spicy, and citrus and pine hops. The Palate is semi-tingly and this beer is medium bodied. All-in-all, this beer is very quaffable, not overly hopping tasting and worth trying.

22 ounce from West Lakeview in Chicago. Alcohol for sure on nose and in aroma. Tropical fruit in taste. Kind of a mix of Double IPA and West Coast IPA with tropic based hops. Maybe some sweetness from yeast, but I’m not getting a real yeasty beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the Rev Party. Pours a somewhat cloudy deep orange gold with more than enough head. The nose affords a lot of white peppery type notes, citrus, tangerine, grapefruit and peach. I’ve never been much of a fan of Belgian IPA and this one trends that way heavily. It is a bit cleaner and less phenolic than most. Firm bitterness with a drying finish. Malt supports. Juicy and fruity but the Belgian notes are just not my thing. Still, well made beer.

Pipeworks Glaucus. 22oz bottle drank at the source thanks fellas... Pours a mostly
transparent, just slightly hazy, golden brown coloration and topped
with a tbin to medium soapy white head... Dank fresh tropical fruit
hoppy goodness, dry and earthy with peachy undertones and touches of white pepper. fruity hops dominate while the belgian yeast play more o of a subordinate role which is what i prefer... Flavors follow suit with a nice
creamy mouthfeel with a big hop backing. Mild Belgian yeast bent but
doesn’t take over. Nice bodied and well executed. Would really enjoy a more sessionable version of this for sure.

22oz bottle from Binny’s Lincoln Park, Batch #15. Pours a clear, golden colored body with some small particulate floating around. Inch thick, frothy and foamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is sweet and peppery Belgian yeast with a good amount of fruity hops. Citrus grapefruits and tangerines with tropical peaches and melons. Some dankness to the pines and earth with lots of florals as well. A bit of a biscuity, pale malt backing. Flavor is bigger grapefruit pines with some dank earth up front before a biscuity pale malt backing comes in with a spicy Belgian yeast. The light tropical peaches and melons come out only slightly towards the end with some florals as well before this finishes dry with a big piney and spicy bitterness balanced with a Belgian yeast note and light, biscuity pale malt sweetness. Lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, soft, medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, Belgian IPA’s are definitely not one of my favorite styles, but this is a really well done beer. Bitter and spicy, but well balanced without too much of a Belgian yeast flavor. Nice one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours cloudy golden with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops, a little bit of light fruit and spiciness from the yeast, some light malts, and light dough. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A good Belgian IPA, but something on the finish is slightly weird.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle. Orange pour with a thin white head on top. Aroma of strong citrus hops, and a nice belgian yeast twang. Mild apricot jam notes as well as grass and a slight brininess. Flavor has a lot of citrus and fruit with a bright hoppiness that shines beneath the fruity, spicy, somewhat salty Belgian yeast profile. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Finishes with a touch of alcohol. Nice, very drinkable belgian ipa.
