Dark brown pour with a creamy brwon head. Aroma is a bit light, but you get some coffee, roast, vanilla, and some fudgy notes. Flavor is sweet with lots of coffee and vanilla, great mouthfeel. Oily and delicious.

I love Jones Dog and the Coffee version adds to an already delicious beer. A distinct but mild coffee flavor and adds just a hint of a kick to the sweetness of the original.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Murky, dark brown ale with no head. The nose is a luxuriant intermingling of milk chocolate, fudge and toasted almonds and pistachios with hints of espresso and vanilla. Full-bodied and absolutely velvety with gentle carbonation. The flavor is a decadent swirl of caramel, vanilla, fudge and espresso. Finishes sweet and chocolaty. Kudos to KickInChalice for shipping this bottle of awesome stuff my way!

Draft at Stoutfest. This was an oddball. Aged with Black Cat Espresso, iirc? Pours the deep black/tan head of it’s brother. Creamy looking. Nose is vanilla and cocoa forward, more roast, less coffee than expected, oddly. The coffee seems to have enhanced the cocoa notes. On tasting, mildly sweet with a nice level of roast and vanilla. The cocoa really pops with this one in the best way. Quite a bit better than Jones Dog for me.

Bottle. Aroma is top notch. Super chocolate smell that is very warm and inviting. An awesome milk stout smell. The taste does not disappoint either. Less chocolate than I wanted to have. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pouts a jet black with a finger of brown head that disappears quickly. I found the nose on this beer very humble. Based on the nose I was not expecting such a beautiful explosion of flavors, coco nibs, vanilla, coffee, roasted malts. Very robust and beautifully blended. I'm very happy with this. Very happy indeed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. This is a huge, thick, black beer. The aroma is spicy coffee, chocolate, soft vanilla. The flavor is roasted, chocolate malts, coffee, hint of vanilla. Very creamy smooth. Well made.

Bomber. Pours a solid jet black color with a medium creamy brown head. A nice nose of coffee and vanilla. The flavor is awesome: rich coffee, milky, vanilla, light roast, metal, more rich decadent mocha. A creamy soft palate. There is a lot to like here, and really the coffee additions mix perfect with a Milk Stout of medium-high ABV. Great.

On tap at at Goose Island Clybourn for Stoutfest ’12 (Chicago, IL). An exciting treatment. Pours a rich roasty brownish deep near opaque hue, some ruby brown glowing edges come alive. A frothy tannish head dies to a ring and laces minimally. Aromas are rich coffee, roast and earth, cocoa and roast, touches of lactose, toffee, vanilla. Some goodd toast, mellow roast. Initial is firm coffee, roast, toast. Rich and earth, some sweetness. Touches of toffee, roast, cocoa come into the fold. Some sweetness, lactose into the middle. Rich and flavorful. Finish is rich coffee, roast, hanging on sweetness of lactose, milk chocolate, pretzels. Wow. Coffee really ups an already good sweet stout.
