Last Kiss is a rich and seductive ale brewed in the Scottish Wee Heavy Style. Hints of vanilla and fenugreek compliment a lucious and complex malt profile. Fermented near lager temperature, subtl spice and rich malt notes make this a perfect ale to enjoy with a loved one next to the fireplace. End a cold winter night with one Last Kiss.

Bottle: Batch #47. Deep brown, some ruby red highlights with a nearly tan head on top that quickly settles to a stretched skin & collar. Aroma full of deep, dark fruits; apple skins, red grapes, plums. There’s both a sweet, candied element, as well as a cutting, pith-like bitterness underneath. Almost more clashing than balancing. Light spice. Taste of sugar coated plums & red grapes with molasses drizzle.Very sweet. Toasted caramel & toffee, a little buttery, again with some mild spice that I can’t identify. Finish tastes like Sugar in the Raw with a dry, dark malt roast & kisses of smoke. A little bit of lingering apple skin & plum, too. Kind of messy & a bit unbalanced, but not bad. I’ll admit I’m not particularly akin to the style, either.

Pours thick unclear dark amber with a beige head. Aroma brings light crystal sweet malts. Flavor brings sweet and root like malts, almost red beans, with a smooth malty ending.

Pours a dark brown color with a nice brown head. Nose is sweet, fruity and malty. Taste is sweet, toffee, with some spicy licorice notes. Finish is sweet as well, with a syrupy molasses moderately long finish. Quaff Score 8 / 10

Pours a muddy brown with a tan head and aroma of vanilla and whiskey. Taste is delicious, nice whiskey notes throughout with vanilla, fruits, liquorice, malt, toffee and light spice with a warming finish. Great scotch ale

bottleshare thanks to Beechner224. Pours a deep brown with no head. Lots of licorice. Lots of toffee. Lots of candy. Ugh.

Bottle share thanks to beechner224. Pours a brown color with bubble cream colored head. Caramel, toffee aroma, dark fruits, anise. A lot of the black licorice flavor, toffee and roasty flavor.

Bottle from trade. Pours cloudy, smells of malt and boost. Taste is sugary, alcoholic, warms me up a bit.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2014 1 litre bottle with wax seal @ the Fourth Shrewsbury Bottle Share April 2014, courtesy of Paolo. Pours a very dark brown, lots of dark treacle and molasses in the taste with brief glimpses of vanilla. Sweet, strong and interesting.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2014 The penultimate beer of the fourth Shrewsbury beer swap on 28th April 2014, batch 52 by the way. Pours a deep, dark brown with a tanned head. Coffee, toffee and vanilla fill your nose as you take in the aromas, all a bit too sweet (after a Garlic flavoured beer anyway). The taste is also fairly sweet, caramel and coffee notes mingle with the alcohol and a spicy note or two: it dries a little towards the end, where a slight bitterness finishes off each sip.

Bottle, thanks to _Angst_, split at Colin and the Vikings tasting, Nol, Goteborg, Sweden 22/03/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown with light tan spotting. Nose is dark fruits, light smoke, spice, dark malts, toffee, woody tang. Taste comprises light booze, raisens, dates, dark toffee fudge, light smoke, cocoa powder, fruit cake mix. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok offering, for what I find ordinarily to be a boring style.
