Last Kiss is a rich and seductive ale brewed in the Scottish Wee Heavy Style. Hints of vanilla and fenugreek compliment a lucious and complex malt profile. Fermented near lager temperature, subtl spice and rich malt notes make this a perfect ale to enjoy with a loved one next to the fireplace. End a cold winter night with one Last Kiss.

Pour is dark brown/ruby red with a very small off-white head. Aroma of booze, oak, vanilla extract, plum juice, slight molasses, and a hint of smoked malt. Flavor is similar with added notes of dark caramel, sweet malt, spice and light bourbon. Finish is semi-hot with the sweetness lingering in the aftertaste. Good, but hard to drink a lot of it.

Scopey (8526) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 12, 2014
Bottle at RBESG 2014 Grand Tasting. It pours hazy deep brown with minimal head. The nose is toasty, dirt, wood, leather, spice, candy, fruit cake, vanilla and mild smoke. The taste is bitter-sweet, dried fruits, candy, raisin, figgy pudding, wood, nutty and cherry cola with a dry, sweetish finish. Fullish body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. All about the sweet candied dried fruits. OK at best.

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2014 Bottle: Batch #47. Deep brown, some ruby red highlights with a nearly tan head on top that quickly settles to a stretched skin & collar. Aroma full of deep, dark fruits; apple skins, red grapes, plums. Thereís both a sweet, candied element, as well as a cutting, pith-like bitterness underneath. Almost more clashing than balancing. Light spice. Taste of sugar coated plums & red grapes with molasses drizzle. Very sweet. Toasted caramel & toffee, a little buttery, again with some mild spice that I canít identify. Finish tastes like Sugar in the Raw with a dry, dark malt roast & kisses of smoke. A little bit of lingering apple skin & plum, too. Kind of messy & a bit unbalanced, but not bad. Iíll admit Iím not particularly akin to the style, either.

Pours thick unclear dark amber with a beige head. Aroma brings light crystal sweet malts. Flavor brings sweet and root like malts, almost red beans, with a smooth malty ending.
