Rating 2400! 22 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snfter. Pours a semi-hazy copper color with a nice froth of white foam. Great retention and sheets of lacing. The aroma has notes of tropical fruit, pine, grapefruit rind. The taste has a thick herbal pine presence, but there’s still a detectable note of oranges and grapefruit rind. Low to medium carbonation and medium to full body.

22 oz bottle courtesy of Chris, served in a snifter. Pours hazy golden amber with a moderate off-white head that fades to a thin cover and leaves a moderate amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are complex hoppy notes of citrus, flowers and grass, along with caramel malts. The flavour starts out moderately bitter with floral and citrus notes and becomes more bitter towards the end with lots of resin. The finish is long and intensely bitter. On the palate, it is medium-full in body with a dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice double IPA with a great nose; the finish is perhaps a little too bitter, overpowering the nose. 2013-06-07

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 Batch 235-237. Bomber from rxeight-thanks, Al! Super fresh. Deep orangish gold. Huge hop nose of citrus and floral hops but pine dominated. Great balance with the malt. Potent, complex, and smooth. Top notch DIPA. >>>Batch 328-40. Think this was even fresher than the last one I had....more garlic/onion profile on nose and hops. More hop driven and not quite as malty. Malt more present as it warmed. Great stuff.

Bottle poured into a tulip. Amber color with medium white head that dissipates quickly. Has a sticky, sweet aroma mixed with citrus. Taste is pine and resin with melon and floral notes thrown in. Great balance as well. An excellent beer overall.

Smells and tastes like a peaches and cream dipa to me. Heavy peach and strawberry on the entry, then mango, then slight but articulate grapefruit sour on the finish with a hint of cracked peanut shell malt. Perhaps a bit too sweet, but overall very complex and very good...

Fantastic DIPA... amber-golden hazy color... nose is citrus- lemon oil, orange zest, spice... flavors of citrus, pine, flintlock- slightly metallic- with a well balanced bitter finish. Lots of complex hop character with a background of malt, which fades even more into the background as the bottle empties... long finish, complex, and doesn’t taste like an 8.5 ABV (but feels like it)....thanks to Chris for the trade!

Wow. This is certainly at the top of my list of double IPAs. If you’re in the mood for a wickedly-hopped IPA, this will do the trick. Golden orange in color, it has such a beautifully fluffy off-white head that I was tempted to lick it. And I did. The nose is resinous and intense, screaming of fresh, acidic hops. Somewhere beneath that intense hop character lies a barely detectable caramel sweetness and nice, grainy notes. Once in the mouth the experience reaches an all-new level of intensity. The palate is pummeled at first with a very interesting combination of hop bitterness and an interesting, rustic, sap-like resin. The beer washes down fast and easy, allowing for an unobstructed attack of hops in the finish. Again, this beer is all about the hops. There’s just enough malts to form a foundation, but to be honest it seems that the hop oils create almost as much of a body as the malts do. There’s so much oil in this that the experience seems much like what I’d imagine drinking lighter fluid would be – just with a much better flavor, of course. As odd as I’ve made this sound, it’s really incredibly good. Thin, resinous, floral, and it really feels like there’s much more alcohol in this than there really is. Different, fantastic.

Bomber crushed with Honkeybra. Been a long time since I could write that. Pours a hazy golden with a very nice white head. Initial aroma of pine hoppiness with some citrus and a bit of ethyl acetate. Flavor is fresh hops, citrus, a bit of tongue-numbing bitterness. A superior dipa.
