4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
22oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a cloudy dark orange with a half finger of thick lasting white head. Aroma of huge tropical fruit with a hint of citrus. Taste is light bitter. Starts big with the citrus and finishes huge with tropical fruit. Loads of pineapple and mango. Full bodied with slick yet slightly sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a super long finish. Overall, absolutely awesome. I swear i could drink this everyday.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from West Lakeview Liquors. A slightly hazy golden brew pours out with a thin, but lasting, off-white head that produces some impressive lacing. A big tropical aroma invades the air with mango, pineapple, and grapefruit. There’s a little pine, too, with a dash of lemon, and grassy notes deep down. Tropical fruity flavors that mirror the scent; I definitely like the tropical hop complexity here. Some sticky resin sneaks in there with a honey-floral character. Dry and bitter in the finish, the way it should be. A bit oily and slick in the body. There’s some malt support but it remains fairly light, allowing this to go down quite easily. I really like the 8.5% abv for a IIPA; chalk full of hops but not too heavy or sticky. Hardly any alcohol is noticed. I had planned to nurse this bottle along tonight but it emptied much quicker than anticipated. It’s been a while since I’ve had a IIPA in the class of some of my favorites, but this definitely belongs amongst the best.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, batch 158 bottled 6/28/2013. Pours very hazy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of huge mango, papaya, passion fruit, peach, pineapple, tangerine, floral, honey, light caramel, light pine, and floral earthiness. Insane aromas with huge complexity of tropical hop notes with a moderate malt balance; and big strength. Taste of big mango, peach, papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, tangerine, floral, pine, grass, honey, light caramel, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of big tropical fruits, tangerine, floral, pine, honey, light caramel, and floral earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible balance and complexity of tropical hop flavors; with a moderate malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy, slick, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an absolutely incredible DIPA! Huge complexity and balance of tropical hops with moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on. An extremely delicious offering.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber from trade with FullObs. Rating 999! Awesome label. Batch 135, bottled 5/13/13. Pours a hazy gold color with a small frothy head that quickly fades, leaves a little webbing. Aroma is fresh squeezed grapefruit and tropical fruit juice. Maybe some light pine in there too. Taste is very juicy hops, grapefruit and tropical fruit mostly but also getting peaches, mangos, and oranges. Very light sweetness and moderate to strong bitterness. Hops are pretty fresh, solid malt backbone. Medium body, light oiliness. Finish is fairly dry. Overall, very good but not up there with my favorites in the style.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Received in trade from brewnstrong, thanks for the opportunity Justin! Pours a slightly hazy medium gold color with a smallish creamy head that dissipates quickly. Smells of pine, citrus, earth with a fair amount of lightly fruity bready caramel. The flavor is more pine and and resin than earth and citrus. Moderate amount of caramel malt to back it up with a light pomme fruit flavor and solid shot of hop bitterness. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick resinous mouthfeel. Nice beer, I’m glad I got to try it. Seems a bit more drinkable and less harsh than the revenge.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle (22 oz). Thanks Matt! Clear golden with a small white head and good lacing. Aroma is of tropical fruits (mango, pineapple, grapefruits), resinous hops and citrus. Taste is moderately sweet with tropical fruits, pine, caramel, citrus and moderate bitterness. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium body. Average carbonation. Slightly dry. It’s exactly the kind of IPA that I like. An hoppy bomb with not too much sweetness or alcohol presence, really drinkable and quite tasty. I don’t usually like IPA/DIPA over 7,5% abv, but this one is pretty damn good!
