Pour is hazy orange with a creamy ivory head. Nose is heavy hop with notes of pine and some tropical fruit like mango and pineapple. Taste is hop bitter primarily with a nice biscuit flavored malt backbone. Bitterness lingers a bit with nice pine and citrus rind flavor. Mouthfeel is medium. Overall very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a very hazy golden amber with a thin cap of head. A lot of lacing. Nose is all citrus and hops. A lot of grapefruit and pineapple. There is a slight yeast backbone but its very subtle. Mouth is extremely bitter. Wonderful balance of bitter and citra hops. Very light bodied and leaves a nice bitterness on the tongue.

From a bomber acquired on recent Chicago jaunt at West Lakeview... Pours opaque golden brown, lots of carbonation, I finger white head with a bit of lacing. Powerful fruit, both citrus and tropical, on the nose. Amazing hop complexity, like a hop explosion in your mouth, smooth bitter finish... Fantastical DIPA, right up there with the best of them... Wish I lived closer to Chicago... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Citrus, melon, cantaloupe, slight pine nose. The aroma is electric. Looks perfect for style, golden amber, opaque, slight head sticky lacing. Taste is bitter pine upfront. Kind of assaulted my palate in a good way. A nice dryness meets the seeming resinous qualities. Refreshing citrus aspects come thru. Great bitter dipa...

Rated on 10-22-2012 (Batch 025 (Bottle) This beer pours a small white head, fast rising carbonation, very little lacing, and a golden hue. The Aroma is citrus, fruity, grapefruit, and some hints of pepper. The Taste is fruity, citrus, pine, bitter, and semi-dry. The Palate is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, a hoppy and easy to drink beer with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Worth trying.

Hazy gold beer, little white head. Light palate, a little crisp and a little dry. Dry pithy yellow grapefruit. A little creamy malt underneath. Touch of orangey hop. Mild aniseed alcohol. Dry finish. Tad dry but pretty drinkable.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a cloudy dark orange with a half finger of thick lasting white head. Aroma of huge tropical fruit with a hint of citrus. Taste is light bitter. Starts big with the citrus and finishes huge with tropical fruit. Loads of pineapple and mango. Full bodied with slick yet slightly sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a super long finish. Overall, absolutely awesome. I swear i could drink this everyday.

Bottle from West Lakeview Liquors. A slightly hazy golden brew pours out with a thin, but lasting, off-white head that produces some impressive lacing. A big tropical aroma invades the air with mango, pineapple, and grapefruit. There’s a little pine, too, with a dash of lemon, and grassy notes deep down. Tropical fruity flavors that mirror the scent; I definitely like the tropical hop complexity here. Some sticky resin sneaks in there with a honey-floral character. Dry and bitter in the finish, the way it should be. A bit oily and slick in the body. There’s some malt support but it remains fairly light, allowing this to go down quite easily. I really like the 8.5% abv for a IIPA; chalk full of hops but not too heavy or sticky. Hardly any alcohol is noticed. I had planned to nurse this bottle along tonight but it emptied much quicker than anticipated. It’s been a while since I’ve had a IIPA in the class of some of my favorites, but this definitely belongs amongst the best.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, batch 158 bottled 6/28/2013. Pours very hazy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of huge mango, papaya, passion fruit, peach, pineapple, tangerine, floral, honey, light caramel, light pine, and floral earthiness. Insane aromas with huge complexity of tropical hop notes with a moderate malt balance; and big strength. Taste of big mango, peach, papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, tangerine, floral, pine, grass, honey, light caramel, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of big tropical fruits, tangerine, floral, pine, honey, light caramel, and floral earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible balance and complexity of tropical hop flavors; with a moderate malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy, slick, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an absolutely incredible DIPA! Huge complexity and balance of tropical hops with moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on. An extremely delicious offering.
