3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
acquired as an extra from xdtfx. this was a damn solid brew from the get go. i was shocked it was a little more malt heavy with the description on the bottle but overall it does have a nice hop charatiristic and had a slight citrus and pine taste with a hint of bread in there too. overall i was glad to try this and would definitely have another!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bomber - ’cause, does Pipeworks do anything else? = ) - poured into a tulip glass. While there’s still a big, puffy head, the aroma is biscuit and roasted grain, with hints of a tropical fruit undertone. The biscuits and grain fade, replaced with toffee, and, finally, as the drink settles, a clear grapefruit citrus and tropical fruit aroma come through with an accompanying candi sugar. Further along the time line, a slight grassy note becomes apparent along with bubblegum and even some resin. It pours on the yellow side of gold with a clear, oily look to it. Of course, being unfiltered, near the end of the bottle, it becomes quite hazy. The head is, at first, active and creamy with an off-white (pinkish?) tone, but this descends rapidly to a sudsy, filmy layer - decent by most standards - and it leaves behind a light, sprinkled lacing. The taste is predominantly sweet, medium-high levels, with a supporting medium / medium-light bitterness closer to the finish. Near the end of the bottle (and perchance due to some of the unfiltered sediment falling in) a slight Parmesan cheese umami sneaks in as well. The medium bodied beer (light by IIPA standards) has a low level of soft carbonation, but results in an oily texture with a touch of a creamy quality (a bit Belgian). The finish is mostly juicy and fruit with a mellow dose of resin (more prominent near the end of the bottle). This transitions into a more dry, light bubblegum and grainy aftertaste with maybe a touch a resin. As the aftertaste develops - or maybe more towards the finish of the bottle - some of the Parmesan starts to become noticeable as well as a vegetable character.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
It was decent but lacking the hops I was looking for because of the huge malt bill used. Amber pour off white head. Some grapefruit and pine aroma. Some citrus and pine with caramel malt taking over. Medium.body light carbonation.

Cumming Ga Tasting. Thanks to EricTeusink for bringing this badboy. Just how I like my IIPAs -- candy-like sweetness. This version had more of a pine/citrus hop combo, with sweet malts and a perfect balance. Medium bitterness, but the sweet candied hops ride out the finish. Lovely

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Batch 328/339/340, so between February 13 to the 28th it was bottled.
Appearance: The body has a mild haze with an orange golden hue, the head is short and quickly dissipates into an opaque white coating.
Aroma: The aroma is fruity, big candied orange with hints of pineapple and a whiff of banana. I wish the aroma were stronger, but it smells very nice.
Taste: Solid imperial IPA, moderately bitter with hints of a nutty malt base that has a touch of caramel. The backend has a big orange flavor that’s like drinking fresh orange juice. The front half though is rather non-descript. Everything blends together.
Palate: Full-bodied with mild carbonation.
Overall: I guess I was expecting something more given the huge amount of hype this has, but in the end it’s just a solid imperial IPA that I am glad to have drank, but wouldn’t bother finding again.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
650 mL bottle. Says 8.5%. Hazy copper with a small off-white head. Fresh hops in the aroma, but without any distinguishable aromas. Some brown sugar malt balances out the bitterness a little. Rough around the edges, but very enjoyable.

Were we in Forsyth county? Thanks to EricTeusink for bringing this one. Thought I was over IPAs but this one reaffirmed my faith. Oh god you can smell the aroma from across the room. Herbal teas wafting. Tangerine, pineapple and tropical fruit aromas and flavors. Bitter grapefruit finish with a nice medium body drink working throughout.
