UPDATED: FEB 17, 2013 Rerate 2-17 batch 87. Shipped out on tuesday. So much fresher than last time. Fantastic hop citrius bomb. Good amount of bitterness. Fantastic. Easily on the same level as dreadnaught. Original rating 12-29 3.4 Batch 33. Probably a bit old. Golden pour. Hop aroma. Slight citrius. Some flour perfume to it. Fair amount of bitterness. Ok nothing special.

Can from my untapped bud, Rob. Thanks a ton, man! This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a hazy burnt yellow to almost orange color. A light filmy white head maintained a nice level look to it. Filmy white lacing. The smell had some sweet grapefruit up front with a nice sweet danky onion coming in and rounding out really nicely. Light pine as it warms. The taste was present with the sweet danky onion flowing into the grapefruit with a light pine underneath. Aftertaste is dry and semi-bitter. On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body with a crisp dry sweet feel laying down on my tongue. Bitterness feels nice and dry on my tongue. Overall, hot damn, what a nice DIPA that comes across nice and dry.

Dank, pungent overripe mango, apricot jam, pine, lemon zest, doughy soft sweet malt, tangerine.

Pours mildly hazy golden orange with a small white head. The aroma has lots of tropical fruits thatís heavy on pineapple, citrus thatís more on the orange/tangerine side and sweet caramel malt. The beer has a medium/full body with pretty soft carbonation. The flavor starts with lots of tropical fruit and gentle citrus from the aroma and the malt is a bit drier. Itís very hoppy, but not really harsh. The finish adds some pine, wood and grapefruit, but is still soft tasting for something this hoppy. Quite nice.

At Ratebeer Best. Pours golden with a nice white head and a floral toffee aroma. There is a full-bodied pale malt flavor with a very balanced hop profile. Nicely done!

Can. Pours Golden with thick white head. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is piney citrus with a warm sweet hop/citrus/pine finish. With the hassle to track it down.

Nose was perfumy, but not heavy, a beautiful nose. Best beer I've had in a month. Bitterness avoids the tongue and throat and provides a refreshing motif.

Good double IPA. This one isnít as filtered as I suspected coming out of the can. Enjoyable but not sure it hits the hype. Middle when comparing about 15 different double IPAís from across the USA

16 oz can. Pours hazy dark golden orange with a big creamy off white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet sugary tropical fruit and piney resiny hops.

The flavor is sweet bready caramel malts and ripe tropical fruit with lots of resiny piney hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice DIPA. I remember it being more fruity on draft and liking it a bit more.

Tasting at Mattís; 8.5% ABV
Hazy light amber color, small head. Dunk aroma, orange peel, perfume, some piney hops. Nice pale malt profile, but also a bit cheesy (Parmigiano), sigh of age; the hops are still bitter, resiny, but no freshness is left here.
Not fresh, but probably a very good beer it was.

It's a perfect beer. The fruit finish 30 seconds later put it past perfect for me. Wow. Perfect. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
