Pours a very hazy golden amber with a thin cap of head. A lot of lacing. Nose is all citrus and hops. A lot of grapefruit and pineapple. There is a slight yeast backbone but its very subtle. Mouth is extremely bitter. Wonderful balance of bitter and citra hops. Very light bodied and leaves a nice bitterness on the tongue.

Bomber purchased at Brothers Provisions in San Diego...whose beer buyer had brought a bunch of stuff back from the Chicago area in an RV (a hefty $15.00). Pours a dark amber-orange hue with two fingers of fluffy white foam. AROMA of sweet citrus, sweet candy (Jolly Ranchers of various fruit flavors), perfume-y plumeria flowers, canned pear (heavy syrup), and spicy hops. FLAVOR of big hops with notes of juicy pine, sharp grapefruit, sweet tropical fruit, resinous hops, all with a very sizable sweet-ish caramel malt backbone (turning much sweeter as it warms). Finishes with some lingering bitterness. The high ABV is somewhat detectable in both nose and mouth. Interesting DIPA -- packs quite a bitter hop punch but has a significant sweetness going on as well...enjoyable enough but perhaps could all be better nuanced, though maybe "powerful but sloppy" is what is intended here based on the imagery and the name. Would like to find a fresher bottle as I cannot vouch for the freshness of this one since it appears to have been made a few months back. (276, 908)

Bottle via trade. Amber pour with a tight head. Nose is very sweet. Caramelized mango. Toffee, candy corn and cotton candy. Some white onion and pine cone. Taste is quite bitter indeed. Pine needle, resin. Dried wood. Onion. Caramel. Full body, oily. Decent, but quite malty and sweet.

Hazy orange body with a fluffy white head that dissipates quickly. Big hop pine aroma. Lots of resin hop pine flavors. Not much sweetness or alcohol taste. Excellent beer.

Thanks to DLeep for hooking me up with this. Label art is ridiculous and awesome. the beer is orange with an inch of white head. Aromas of fresh hops, tropical fruit, citrus, pine. Great flavor. It gets better as the beer warms a tad and opens up. Big on the palate, with some noticeable alcohol, but hop character is certainly the feature. Mango, pineapple, pine resin. Very good.

Sampler on tap at the Oak Park Micro Brew Review. Medium yellow with a thick white head. Mild aroma like a bit of alcohol. Sweet a bit bold and smooth.

Bottle from late June release. Month and a half old so not SUPER fresh. This thing is either not that great of a DIPA or fell off a cliff. Pours a hazy orange with moderate white head. Aroma is peach, citrus, chocolate (?) and some heavy malt. Taste is an overly sweet, malty, peach forward DIPA. I did not know the ABV but it seemed rather high and I’ve now confirmed that. I’d love to try this fresh on draft or super fresh from the bottle as it has to be better than this.

Golden pour with lots of unfiltered sediment into tulip glass. Nose is grapefruit and orange. It is a frangrant and upfront aroma. Condenscened sweetness with a bold lemony flavor. It is all well balanced. Not too complex but it is very well crafted. The lemon lingers on….

Golden brown Nose is malty and sweet (lots of crystal) with a bit of chinook/Centennial bursting pine and sweet candy corn. Taste isn’t quite a malt bomb. sweet (too much) and resinous. hop acids stick around for a while. has a minor menthol taste. Still one of the better IPAs.

Bottle from Binny’s in Chicago.
Batch 444 bottled on 2014-06-28. Pour is a nice hazy orange with a lasting white creamy head. Smells candyish along with a tonne of orange and some light rye bread. Very easy drinking despite its advertised strength (9%). Lots of citrusy hops and plummy flavours. Goes down really nicely. Finishes quite dry. It’s actually pretty well balanced. Very good. 2014-08-03

Cloudy pale gold with some carbonation. Strong citrus and tropical fruit smell, some wheat; some musk. Flavor is very bright and hoppy: grapefruit, tangerine, Jolly Ranchers, lemongrass, but with a significant bitterness. Juicy and delicious; I was very surprised by this one.
