22oz bottle with big thanks to stfun. Thanks, Josh! This is batch #8. Pours a hazy, bright gold capped by a rich, fluffy white head that leaves sticky legs on the glass. Aroma is great with big citrus notes of lemon peel, white grapefruit, and orange zest backed by notes of dried pineapple, apricot, and vanilla with herbal grass as it opens. Flavor follows suit with juicy citrus notes of orange peel, grapefruit, and lemon backed by bitter, piney hops, dry grass, and hints of sweetbreads. Palate is medium bodied with creamy carbonation and a dry, bitter, herbal finish. Overall, a great dipa at 4 months old and I bet its amazing at its freshest.

Bottle from trade with Lemonhead. Thanks! Batch 131 (I think that's what it says). Pours clear light copper with a small white head. Aroma of mango, grapefruit, orange, and definite caramel malt backbone. Big slick mouthfeel with relatively low carbonation (i.e. needs a bit more). Orange peel, mango, pine, big malt profile. Flavor rings a bit flat for me after the huge aromas. Maybe my taste buds are muted from the spicy dinner I just had, but hops seem slightly stale. Solid beer overall, but was expecting more. Very glad I got a chance to taste some Pipeworks though!

This was a nice IPA. I would like to try it a little more fresh. Lots of awesomeness going on in this however. Really good and drinkable.

Pours orangish yellow with small white head and lacing. Aroma of fruits like strawberries and peaches and citrus hops. Taste is a very good balance of strong hops and a sweet malty backbone. Smooth and drinkable for a double IPA.

Golden pour with a white head. Very pine forward, slightly herbal, and floral. Tropical fruit, some citrus, and sweet caramel malts. Somewhat bitter flavor with a lot of pine, herbal hops, and some light grass notes. There’s a little bit of tropical fruit, some grapefruit, and sweet caramel.

Pours a hazy, golden-yellow with minimal head. Strong, floral-hop aroma. Immense, sharp pine-hop flavor, with some citrus notes and just a touch of sweetness. Very bitter flavor overall and finish. Bottle indicates it was part of batch #115.

Great aroma, amber pour, lacked lacing. Not too bitter for a double IPA. Overall I definitely enjoyed this beer.

Sampled at DLD 2013. It poured a golden color with a white head. The aroma was pineapple and some resin. The taste was slightly sweet up front, with lots of hops, a bit of pineapple, tropical fruit and then a fair amount of bitterness in the back end. Awesome.

Gorgeous clear amber gold with a foamy white head. Good lacing and head sticks around. Big sweetness - orange, sugared grapefruit peel, and bitterness - resin, fresh pine; and rye bread malt notes. As it warms, an embracing mango astringency takes form, as well as some strawberry and melon sweetness. Incredibly full, rich, and intense. An incredibly vibrant and fruity and bitter DIPA - great balance. Orange, grapefruit, lemon zest and mango explode after a slap of bitterness. There is some pineapple astringency as well. Very balanced and intense. Full for the style - chewy and sticks to the mouth. Lingers a long while Just a fantastic beer - may be the best of the ninja unicorn series, an incredible DIPA all around. Getting better each batch

22, Pours a hazy burnished medium amber with lots of nucleation columns and a dense, creamy tan head that sticks around. Tons of sheeting lace. Big malt bomb. Lightly spicy nose, showing orange peel, grapefruit pith, and a little bit of celery-ish peppery quality. A little booze showing as well. Creamy thick body, soft carb. Roasty caramel and oranges on the mid palate, plus grapefruit and a bit of celery. Long dry shampoo-y finish.
