North & Western is a dry-hopped Saison style ale. Starting with a base of pilsner malt we infuse this beer with hops from around the globe, both in the boil and with a hefty dose of dry hops in the tank. The result is a complex combination of spicy yeast character with layers of floral, citrus, pone, and fruity hop notes. Drink this one fresh to get the most from the awesome bouquet of hops.

Very hazy amber beer, big fluffy off white head. Palate is soft and airy with fine carbonation. Semi dry. Very nice tangy orange with touches of mango and apricot. Mild seltzer minerals. Light finish with whispers of flowers and lime. Nicely hopped Saison.

Turbid straw colored pour with a white head. Grassy nose with some pine and citrus zest. Aromas of green apple and solvent with a bit of sweet caramel malt. The flavor is a bit better, but still not terribly enjoyable. Heavy grass character, some pine, light vegetal notes, and lots of green apple. Mild malt sweetness, light citrus, and a touch of bitterness.

Bottle. Poured clear golden copper color with an average to large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Medium to heavy yeast complex floral aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer.

Bottle... Cloudy, golden pour with a small, fizzy, white head. Decent retention. The nose is doughy with components of floral hops, peaches and apricots. Full-bodied with prickly carbonation. The flavor is a melding of sweet peach nectar and spicy, moderately bitter hops. Finishes tongue-numbing and bittersweet. Bottle courtesy of BBB63!

Wafting hops. A lot of hops, a lot of peach, dry and funky finish. Worth a try. A bit of a strange finish. Bottle from 20 west.

Assertive hoppiness in the smell. Flavor leaves a lingering bitterness. Hops and yeast play an equal part. A fresh-tasting hoppy saison.

22oz bottle, shared by Tmoney99. Hazy yellow orange color. Thin white head, leaves decent lace. Very nice nose - orange peel, spice, and maybe something floral. Good desert-like creme flavor to this. Medium to bigger body, smooth lighter carbonation. Zesty sweet taste, real light bitter. Interesting, hoppy saison, or floral, yeasty IPA. Kind of works.

Bomber and served in Pipeworks sniffy thingy: Pours a slightly hazy coppery golden sunset hue with a lasting frothy head and very good lace. The first thingy you notice when evaluation of the nose is the pronounce PMW hops esters of pink grapefruit, crabapple and pineapple along with a slight hit of pine needles and pine sap resin. Oh yeah this be an ’Merican styled Saison foshizzle. Wheat husks and pils malt round the aroma into happy clouds.

The taste is bright clean citrus bitterness over a layer of biscuity and wheaty malts. Slap of some hop spices and dusty dry yeast notes (methinks fermented with an ’Mercian yeast if not for the slight bubblegum note). The mouth feel is sprite and lively, dry but not overly dry. Yes... this is a SIPA (Saison India Pale Ale) and I LOVE IT!

22 oz bottle from Binnys South Loop (Chicago, IL). Pours a dulled orange amber hue, darker dulled middle with some mellow yet firm haziness. A frothy loose whitish head sits atop, dies to a small film and laces small. Some hazy amber glow on the edges shows some pretty light. Aromas are gentle kisses of fruit, doughy malts, dry florals and citrusy hops. Some apple, kiss of pear, grapefruit and lemon hops meet florals, gentle grass. Mellow yeasty spice couples into the dryness. Touches of melon, peach, and some light orange. Delicate fruity bouquet as it warms. Initial is a lighter end of the fold in body, some delicate peach fuzz, dry floral and grassy hops provide some bitterness up front. Some apple, gentle bready malts, kiss of dough. Dry and lighter overall as some grapefruit and lemon come in. Delicate melon, bready malts. Kiss of yeastiness gives some chase into the middle. Beer gives some nice dryness, touches of tropical fruit hops, grapefruit, gentle white grape. Kiss of white pepper, orange. Some bready malts, gentle dough, pear. Into the backend, the beer gets a touch more dry again, lingering hops, grapefruit, florals, some tropical fruit, kiss of bubblegum. Lighter, nice and dry, the yeast element stays at bay. Fairly fresh and not overhopped/hopped to death so as to lose the Saison element. A touch of abv, bread, bit of paper. More mellow finish as it trails out. I really like the nose, the front, the middle. The backend and finish leave a bit more to be desired for me. Still, it’s quite nice and not just of the mindset "we made a Saison but just covered up everything about it with hops". Nice beer, guys. Nose really grows on me, especially as it warms and settles a bit.. Not about intensity, but depth which is quite nice here.
