3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 holdenn (2023) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 30, 2012The most recent bottle release. Pours a yellow gold with a thin head. The aroma is light on the Belgian spicy yeast and heavier on the herbal, citrus, and pine hops. The yeast is pretty mellow in the flavor as well. Not too much of that barnyard, hay, or earthiness flavors that you might be expecting. But the pale malts have both a nice bitterness and spiciness near the finish. Especially as this warms those herbal pepper spices from the hops and yeast are not overpowering but really good. Tasty.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 jstraw (1697) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Mostly clear orange with big, foamy, flotsam off-white head, strong legs / Mellow, floral nose of orchard fruit, citrus, spice, soap / Light to medium body, very lively carbonation, dry with astringency and fruit somewhat lacking, and bitter finish / Stylish, dry flavors of grain, straw, chrysanthemum, marigold, orange peel, apple, coriander / A bit unduly dry and bitter, without enough fruit for support, but all in all an elegant and complex brew.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 womencantsail (7100) - Garbage Grove, California, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Turbid straw colored pour with a white head. Grassy nose with some pine and citrus zest. Aromas of green apple and solvent with a bit of sweet caramel malt. The flavor is a bit better, but still not terribly enjoyable. Heavy grass character, some pine, light vegetal notes, and lots of green apple. Mild malt sweetness, light citrus, and a touch of bitterness.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Scipio (502) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - MAR 19, 2013
Pours a bright and hazy golden with a big, foamy white head. Aroma contains floral hops, Belgian yeast, orange, lemon, and touches of banana. The taste isn’t extremely complex, although I find plenty of flavor. It is big in lemon, spices, and yeast initially, while I find some apple and melon flavors underneath. The aftertaste is quite yeasty with hints of fruit. Mostly dry throughout. Medium body, a sudsy, bubbly texture, and some very fizzy carbonation. Maybe its all of the bubbles or something, but even though it isn’t very potent, the alcohol content makes itself readily known. This is good.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerSquare (114) - - FEB 12, 2013
This is a good, solid and interesting beer-- far safer, more interesting, and more reliable than the intersection after which it is named.
It’s pretty much just a great fusion of "hoppy ipa" and "saison". One of the rawer, more bitter edges I’ve ever tasted in a saison.
But since it still has that wonderful belgian sweetness to it, you get to really savor the sharp hops playing off the sugary belgianness.
Good stuff, and another interesting truly new beer from pipeworks.

22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a hazy golden brown color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma had Belgian yeast, a medley of fruits, citrus, pear, melon with light resin, herbals and pale malts. The flavor has good bitterness behind the yeast, fruits, mild white pepper, citrus and pale malts. Very nice and easy to drink.

Pours a hazy brownish orane with a soapy off-white head that leaves wide bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma is grassy, hoppy with typical spicy saison yeast character. A little sweeter than expected with a sugary character layered with significant bitter, spicy hoppy character. NIce level of carbonation and mouth feel.
