GlasgowTAD (165) - Glasgow/Aberdeen, SCOTLAND - JAN 8, 2015
Pours deep brown with a large light brown head which fizzes away after a few seconds into a faint lacing around the glass. Aroma is citrus and raisins. Taste is initially cocoa, then a tart orangey kick which leads to a pleasant roasty finish. Full bodied with slight to moderate carbonation.

Black pour from 22oz bottle at home. Small white head. Has a sweet chocolate and sherbet fruit taste to it. Chalky cocoa sweet and fruity flavor. I guess it is orange flavored since that is what the bottle says. But it is good regardless

Bomber batch 547-550. Pours black with a thin mocha head. Has a orange, chocolate, and roasted malt aroma. Taste was well balanced with the same notes as the aroma. Medium body that was creamy on the palate. Very enjoyable!

ARH (615) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 10, 2014
22oz bottle, poured into a snifter. A light, malty and coffee aroma starts the beer off, but it’s quickly overtaken by sweet blood orange and candy sugar notes as well as milk chocolate candy bar aromas and a slightly boozey nose. It pours a murky, dark, opaque, muddy brown with a light, thin, brown head that retreats to nothing quickly and leaves just speckles of surface and lace. It’s highly sugary sweet with a medium, chocolate bitterness. The beer has a light, fizzy carbonation to go with the viscous and stick texture. The full body contains notes of dark chocolate covered oranges, and finishes with a gritty, baker’s chocolate touch and a warm, alcohol swallow. Some grains come into the palate late, and the aftertaste contains notes of sugar cubes and chocolate which lingers lightly, and is not as cloying as the initial palate would have lead me to believe.

(draft @ Local Option - Chicago, IL) Dark brown with a thick tan head. Very mild orange aroma overtop of a rich and roasty chocolate and coffee aroma. Orange definitely is subdued and well balanced. Doesn’t overpower the roasted malts. Really well put together.
