Bottle at Deanoís monthly tasting, September 2013. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is weak yeast. The flavour is weak bitter with a yeasty pumpkin palate. Pastrami?

Bottle [from trade with Fonefan] shared @ "Press Deans button tasting". Opaque dark brown color, small beige head. Smell sweetness, herbs and spices. 650ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with small, frothy to creamy, diminishing, minimally lacing, tan head. Herbal and spicy aroma with a soapy touch, coriander and ginger predominate, cinnamon and mustard seed are identifiable, bath salt character overall. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, extremely spicy and herbal, dominating ginger and coriander note, some clove, cinnamon, nutmeg; slightly soapy touch from the ginger. Peppery finish, sticky palate, oily texture, soft carbonation. Slightly overdone but still working. Would like to taste it without ginger, i.e. the soapy note.

Bov (9245) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - AUG 25, 2013
from Erzbierschof - very dark beer with no head retention; heavily spicy nose (pepper and nutmeg come to mind), full-bodied and very sweet; slightly dry and long hugely spicy finish; sharp - very cloying and not my thing

Bottled. Shared with jaghana. It pours a dark beer with a small head. Ginger in the nose. Nice sweetness. Balanced. Lots of things going on. Plenty of character. Delicious and very interesting.
