Continuing our theme of Saisons brewed with peppercorns, Poivre du Sichuan is brewed with Szechuan peppercorns, coriander, pink peppercorns, ginger and ornage peal. Fermented using a French Saison yeast, the result is a blend of citrus and floral notes with a unique kick from the Szechuan peppercorns. We hope you’ll enjoy this unique take on a traditional beer. Lightly hazy gold beer with a small white head. Palate is light, airy and dry. Fine carbonation. Dry thin malt. Nice black pepper, aromatic and flavoursome without too much heat. Light citric hops provide contrast. Finishes light and dry. Could be a very nice beer with a bit more body.

(22oz bottle) Pours a clear yellow body with a medium fizzy white head. Aroma of ginger, pepper, coriander, and mustiness. Flavor of rye, yeast, peppercorn, lemongrass, earth, and orange peel.

Huge foamy eruption as the liquid dribbles from its bottle. Great retention & lace. Bright, springy, peppery yeast dominates the aroma. Coriander plays second fiddle.

Taste brings everything together, albeit not deliciously. Peppercorns show up more boldly on the palate. Bitter yeast at the end. Too much carb, as expected. Another mediocre Piperworks beer.

22 oz. bottle shared with the local group (Jan 17, 2013). Pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a big fluffy white head. The aroma has some orange citrus with peel, pink peppercorn spice, herbal notes, a splash of ginger and pale malts. The flavor is very peppery highlighting the pink peppercorn, light fruity, some orange citrus, herbal, mild funk, grass, lightly toasted malts, and a hint of ginger. Interesting, but kind of all over the place.

65cl bottle @Lúpulo Feroz, Oviedo. Coriander, ginger, spicy aromas. Pours cloudy golden, with nice white head, some presistance, high to medium body, high carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is so spicy, overwhelming ginger, some coriander, subtle hot notes. Tremendously unbalanced, some hot aftertaste, unpleasant.

from Erzbierschof - hazy pale orange beer with a persistent little head; estery aroma, citrusy and peppery, highly carbonated and with a solid malt backbone; pretty dry, salty, peppery and gently bitter; long spicy and fruity finish with a lingering sharpness - original and very interesting
