Continuing our theme of Saisons brewed with peppercorns, Poivre du Sichuan is brewed with Szechuan peppercorns, coriander, pink peppercorns, ginger and ornage peal. Fermented using a French Saison yeast, the result is a blend of citrus and floral notes with a unique kick from the Szechuan peppercorns. We hope you’ll enjoy this unique take on a traditional beer. Lightly hazy gold beer with a small white head. Palate is light, airy and dry. Fine carbonation. Dry thin malt. Nice black pepper, aromatic and flavoursome without too much heat. Light citric hops provide contrast. Finishes light and dry. Could be a very nice beer with a bit more body.

Bottle. Hazy golden amber color, medium white head. Nice aroma of black pepper, ginger, spice. Taste is peppery spiced citrus and flowers. Very tasty.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate citrus, floral, ginger, red peppercorn and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy spice citrus flavor with a medium to heavy spice sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectation where exceeded.

Much spicier than its counter part. It isn’t hot spicy or mouthnumbing. It uses the Sichuan sparingly. I would have liked it to be a bit bolder.

Bottle. Pours a hazed gold with a huge white head. Beautiful nose, lovely yeast, spicy pepper, and even the ginger makes an appearance. This smells awesome. Medium bodied, spicy pepper up front, nice black pepper, spicy yeast. Moves to a lingering black pepper feel on the finish, another faint touch of ginger. This is lovely. Well done guys.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, lots of carbonation out of the bottle but not a gush, hazy orange pour with big fluffy white head, aroma brought notes of big peppercorn, coriander, ginger, spicy yeast, some orange peel, lemon, hints of nice floral and bready notes as well, pretty nice and as advertised. Taste is lots of pepper, nice peppercorn, coriander, some nice ginger, lemon, touch of earth, sweet orange, grapefruit notes mix into some biscuity and bready malts, slight white fruit in there as well finishing fairly sweet, peppery and dry. Tasty, though a bit over peppery, it is well made.
