750 ml bottle poured a clear dark brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of raspberry, cocoa, light vanilla and light roastiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of raspberry, cocoa, roastiness and light vanilla with a smooth dry lingering cocoa/raspberry finish.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours black with a tiny, quickly dissipating head. It doesn’t even stick around long enough to figure out its color. The aromatics are of fudge, brownies, chocolate crème and vanilla. Full-bodied with a super silky mouthfeel and faint carbonation. The flavor is a blend of bittersweet chocolate with only a rumor of raspberry. Finishes chocolaty and quite warming. Great beer… BBB63 shipped the love my way!

A big thanks to dcschiller for sharing this. Dark brown pour, fudgey brown head. Flavor is exactly damn what it says on the bottle! Raspberry truffles! Sweet berries intertwined with fudgey notes, vanilla...awesome!!

Sample from batch #117 at Kurtkeller 004: Pipeworks-tastic 01 on 01/18/2014. Pours a dark cola color with a medium foamy tan head that dissipates gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of raspberries, chocolate and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of tart raspberry, chocolate malt and slight coffee. The finish is malty and fruity with a slightly sour raspberry aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2013 DLD tick. Thick, boozy version of the beer with a great raspberry flavor, I don’t get the mediinal qualities. 2nd bottle batch 94 - Dark brown pour with a carmael head. Cocoa smell, some raspberry, rich flavor with coffee, dark cocoa, and a tart raspberry finish. Motor oil like consistency. Score upped.

750ml waxed bottle and served in my PW snifter: Pours basically black with just a touch of crimson highlights leading towards an initial nice creamy tan head and left excellent lace upon the glassware. The aroma has notes of raspberries, chocolate, coconut, tobacco, leather, toasted bread and cotton candy. Very faint herbal hops notes on the nose. The taste is mostly sweet chocolate and caramel with a healthy splash of berry juice added. A touch earthy, smoky and salty in addition to some roast and char. The finish is a bit coffee-ish and a touch boozy. The mouth feel is smooth and oily, not quite as heavy as the regular Abduction. As it warms it becomes a bit more brash. Overall I like the balance of fruit and sweeter malts while not missing over the top hop additions. However when it comes to the lineup I would rank this about the same as the Oak Aged Cherry and below the base Abduction and Coffee Break version.

Draft pour on tap at Stout Fest 2013 (Chicago, IL). Pours a big roasty brown black hue, good toasty glow, a bit ruby, with big frothy caked tannish head. Laces ok. Aromas are cocoa, a bit fudgey, some gentle raspberry. Gentle berry tannins, seedy with some raspberry skin. Some cocoa, toffee, faint anise. Initial is a bit tart, raspberry and bakers chocolate work well, a bit sweet and dry. Bakers chocolate, with raspberry especially into the middle. Bigger raspberry chocolate feel into the middle with some pulpy elements, my mom might like this. A bit overdone and perhaps a bit thin and dry because of it, the cocoa and raspberry hang on to the backend. Pretty solid, but I like chocolate and raspberry together, sort of a personal guilty pleasure. My favorite Abduction so far (Outside of Cherry Oak from FoBAB). Nice work, guys!
