Smells like raspberries. Taste is total raspberry tartness up front. It coats your mouth and dissolves into chocolate at the end. Very fun beer!

Bottle: The aroma consists of molasses, raspberry, light roast, and alcohol. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights and a small beige head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate and light molasses. The finish has light-moderate raspberry and a touch of roast. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Tap. Jet black, dark khaki head. Rich dark chocolate, some figs, dark fruit, very berry and sweet malted milk aromas. Huge chocolate in the flavor, slight dark berry, roasty coffee notes toward the end, with berries rounding it out. Thicker, velvety body.

Bottle. Pours black with a creamy chocolate brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet raspberry and dark grains with a decent amount of chocolate supporting. Flavor is sweet from the combination of dark grains, chocolate and raspberry with a slight bitterness backing.

Bomber shared by Dean. Poured a deep dark blackish body under a smaller beige tight foamy head. Aroma is solid chocolate, chocolate coated raspberry, sugar, toast. Flavor is the same as the aroma but less sugary, lots of chocolate covered raspberry, dry sugar cubes, burnt toast. Full body, lingering burnt sweet aftertaste. Real nice.

650ml bomber from Beer Bazaar. A bit bummed PDub stopped putting batch numbers on the bottle. Doesn’t need to be handwritten, as they move into the batch/week mode, could just be identified on the label. Cola-colored pour with a bit of a tan head. Nose has raspberry and caramel. Later some chocolate showed through. Taste is of sweet raspberries, sweet caramel, and a solid kick of bakers chocolate for balance. And that works. Medium to full bodied with a slight alcohol presence. Finishes to the sweet side of bittersweet, but never got cloying. Solid version of the base, as most have been. Personally would have played up the chocolate a bunch more, but the raspberries were hit well. 13.9
