COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rye Barleywine Style Ale. The unicorn may have finally found its match in Death Incarnate. But hold your horned horses, because the unicorn lives to rye another day! What a sickle joke! But, we arenít tricking you, this barley wine is a real treat, with a rich malt skeleton and a more than paranormal amount of hops. If youíre going to harvest soul-y one beer this season, donít fear the reaper...

Shared with family at Thanksgiving. Deep brown color with a moderate loose tan head on top. Scattered spots of lacing stick to the glass. The aroma shows pine, brown sugar, caramel, and some orange rind. Big chewy malt flavors: sweet caramel, citrus rind, plenty of aggressive resinous hop bitterness, and light toast. This is pretty solid but it was definitely a beer Iím glad I shared. The heavy body is a chore after a bit.

Poured from 22oz bomber, pours a dark amber, almost reddish brown like, light off white head and a little bit of lacing in the glass, aroma isnít as hop forward as I was expecting it to be with some of their other stuff and the description, but still comes across nicely with some of the rye spice coming through as well, the flavor has a good amount sweetness with mostly being caramel and malt, a little bit of chocolate as well in the finish, interesting.

Bottle shared by ferris - thanks! Deep amber pour with a thin tan head. The nose is awesome - lots of bright pine and some earthy character. A touch of heavy malt character. A little bit of chewy rye spice aroma with some orange peel and a fairly assertive bitterness. A touch of mintiness and some nice earthy hoppiness. Has some pine and a bit of chewiness. Pretty solid brew.

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma of orange notes, caramel, brown sugar, and resinous hops. Flavour is quite hoppy for a barley wine, with brown sugar, dry resinous and piney hops, and caramely bready malts. Not very sweet for a barley wine, with the hops citing out the sweetness. Very well-balanced. Good stuff.

Bottle; Pour is murky dark amber with a frothy, fine bubbled khaki head in this glass; with average / above average retention and some light spotting present. This brew has a pronounced hop aroma on the nose; piney, grass, caramel malts, with a hint of booze presenting itself here. The flavor profile has a hint of cream initial, with modest sweetness from bready / caramel malts here. The flavor profile moves to bittering piney and bittering american hops, and finishing with slight creamy, sweet, slightly muddled elements. this one works fairly well; it has a thick mouthfeel but it doesnít quite come together, though I was hoping for a bit more from it.
