Dark amber pour. Slight light tan head. Nice hoppy nose. Malty sweet and big hoppy finish. Nice!

22 oz. bottle shared by Ryan. Pours hazy red amber with a khaki soapy head. Aroma is hoppy bitter caramel malt some pine and earthy. Taste is sweet bitter hops that are earthy and piny resinous and malty. Palate is full sticky and dry. Solid.

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma of orange notes, caramel, brown sugar, and resinous hops. Flavour is quite hoppy for a barley wine, with brown sugar, dry resinous and piney hops, and caramely bready malts. Not very sweet for a barley wine, with the hops citing out the sweetness. Very well-balanced. Good stuff.

Bottle; Pour is murky dark amber with a frothy, fine bubbled khaki head in this glass; with average / above average retention and some light spotting present. This brew has a pronounced hop aroma on the nose; piney, grass, caramel malts, with a hint of booze presenting itself here. The flavor profile has a hint of cream initial, with modest sweetness from bready / caramel malts here. The flavor profile moves to bittering piney and bittering american hops, and finishing with slight creamy,sweet, slightly muddled elements. this one works fairly well; it has a thick mouthfeel but it doesn’t quite come together, though I was hoping for a bit more from it.

Pours a very dark ruby/copper with a decent size, surprising mocha head. Very little lacing. Nose has a very unique combination of sweet citrus and coffee. Some caramel mixed with chocolate, roasted malts, tangerine, pineapple, mango and raisin. Mouth is very bitter and pungent. A mix of pine and citrus. It is balanced out by the sweetness of the rye and dry caramel. A lot of dried cherry, raisin and fig. Very good. It left a slight alcohol burn, but it wasn’t overpowering.

Bottle and served in my PW snifter while watching football at Dad’s: Ruby and deep coppery hue with a small frothy head and minimal lace. The aroma displays juicy citrus and tropical esters like mango, tangerine, starfruit, and peaches while dominating the nose. There is a light dankness along with rye bread, toffee, and leathery earthiness as well. The palate is greeted by heavy aggressive bitterness which attempted to combat to massive rich malt and spicy rye tones. But alas something just does not mesh right at this point and it ultimately comes off syrupy and hot. Perhaps age will help in this regard. The mouth feel has a sharp biting initial character supported by a lush and vinous finish, warming aftertaste. Overall lots of yummy rye character but just too sweet earning a "meh" in the end.

Bomber. Pours a deep, hazy mahogany with a thin off-white head, okay retention and lacing. Nose is caramelly, dried cherries, raisins, orange peel, faint hops. Mouth is thick and creamy, light carbonation, medium bittersweet with some soury rye highlights (rye lights??) oakiness, hoppy bitterness, molasses, dried fruit. Decent, but not spectacular (which is what I’d been hoping for).

Malt, hops, caramel, & pine smells. Pours as a medium reddish and brown with little or no foam. Flavors of hops, pine, some malt, & a shot of alcohol burn at the end. The palate feel is hoppy and not sweet as barley wines seem to be. Overall, I would definitely buy this beer again.
