COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Patio season." Two of the finest word ever to lay upon Chicago ears. Named for the sun we so long for, our new saison celebrates the opportunity to squeeze the summer out of this city. Loaded with Amarillo hops, fresh squeezed citrus juice, and fresh citrus zest, this saison screams summer. Tan those broad shoulders people, you’ve earned it.

Yellow pour from bomber at Lakehouse. White foamy and clear. Lemon and tart. Vanilla and sweet tart smell too. Juicy fruity orange and lemon taste. Good shit

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate pine, orange peel, herbal notes, and citrus. It pours a cloudy dull yellow with a two finger white head that eventually fades to a minimal film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with moderate citrus/orange with a touch of yeast. The finish has more citrus, light herbal notes, and a touch of pepper. It’s light bodied with heavy carbonation that can be a bit prickly at times. Overall, if the carbonation was toned down, I’d like it a lot more.

Nice saison. Aroma is quite good with orange and grapefruit and a bit of grassy herbal hop on top of the saison funk. Taste is a slight letdown with an aspirin bitterness on top of bitter citrus peel and a light funky earthy finish. I liked it but had higher hopes after the aroma.

750, nice grainy saison , which a fake type orange flavoring. Tons of oranges, not well integrated, a little hype-y

750ml bottle. Standard american farmhouse saison with nice dosage of Citrius which seems like its coming from both juice and hops. Slight peppery. Decent.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber with a big foamy head and a rich sweet and tart grapefruit aroma, which also has a note of sour. Flavor is quite tart and bitter with a mild sweet citrus body. Finishes quite bitter.

Sample from batch #159 at Kurtkeller 004: Pipeworks-tastic 01 on 01/18/2014. The beer pours a slightly hazy yellow-gold color with a medium white head that burns away steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, malt and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of pithy citrus, toasted malt and yeast. The finish is fruity with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle. Hazy golden yellow pour, lots of yeasty sediment. I don’t really get a ton of the citrus, though I do get a litle bit of orange, I suppose. I’d say I get more flower in it than citrus fruit. Smooth and easy to drink, has a very velvety mouthfeel IMO.

[Bottle (750ml) at Saloon League.] Pours a hazy copper with a large semi-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma of herbs & spices, citrus, yeast, banana and grain. Flavour starts tart, then gets sweet, with lots of fruit (citrus and more), sweet malt, yeast, herbs and spices. Light bitter finish. Medium bodied. A little too sweet for the style (for me) but pretty good overall.
