Bomber. Poured clear coppery amber with a sticky white head. The aroma picked up aged caramel and lesser dark fruits with light accents of resiny aged pine.. seemed a bit old. The flavor found similar, with good oxidation accents.. tasty and malty. Medium-bodied with low-moderate carbonation.. OK feel and flow.. past itís prime, but still good.

22 oz bottle. Pours hazy copper brown with a medium creamy light tan head that retains well and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is sweet caramel malts with fruity resiny hops and some alcohol and nuttiness.

The flavor is sweet caramel malts with fruity resiny hops and some sharp alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, nice balance of malt and fruity resiny hops. A bit sharp on the alcohol.

Bomber poured in a tulip. The pour is a cloudy burnt reddish brown with a average off white head that shrinks to cover the top and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is citrus, caramel, toffee, and pine. Flavor is lots of pine up front and throughout. Caramel, toffee, grapefruit, and other citrus is there as well. Mouthfeel is thicker and the beer is somewhat hot, but not too bad. Really good.

22oz bottle, poured into a snifter. The aroma is initially a bright grapefruit citrus with bread crust notes followed by a caramel note emerging late. The caramel brown beer is murky and topped by a white soap head that has good retention and lace. The taste is a medium high bitter with a medium high sweet emerging late. The beer is viscous with a fuzzy carbonation. The full body is mostly citrus and pine up front followed by caramel with bread as it warms up. The finish has a clean, citrus zip with pine. The aftertaste is bitter grapefruit and cloying caramel. Itís very much a strong ipa at first that becomes more barleywine / red ale late.

Draught @ Top Hops. Dark brown with reddish tint, small foamy beige head, piney hops aroma, medium carbonation, hoppy taste with very little sweetness, coffee flavor in the background, long hoppy finish. Very interesting brew, not what Iíd expect from a barleywine at all!

notalush (5562) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 15, 2015
Bomber - typical brash and one-dimensional American barley wine - some toffee and dark fruit, some sherry and cherry - light oxidation - strong hop presence and moderately strong finishing alcohol presence - nothing much distinguishes this from the barley wines made in most brewpubs across the country, but itís decent enough.

Pours tan, muddy, thin off white head. Some toast, light caramel. Medium body with a high boost level. And pretty much forgettable the minute the last sip is downed.
