4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
A: Dark orange color, hazy with little sediment. Two fingers of creamy fluffy off-white / light tan colored head.
S: Amazing aroma on this. Pine hops, grapefruit, candy like fruit, mango, some dank. Hint of plastic.
T: A lot of piney grapefruit, floral. Some dankness.
M: Dry and crisp (love that) with some resinous hop bitterness and just a hint of alcohol warmth on the finish.
O: Love Pipeworks, Simcoe and Citra are my favorite Ninja’s so far. Love going to Binny’s weekly seeing what goods they come out with.

Bottle sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Loads of lemon and orange citrus with a decent caramel malt backbone. Another pipeworks homerun.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a rich and somewhat hazy golden amber with sandy tan head. Awesome nose, lots of spicy and peppery/zesty hop notes with some intense fruity tones and citrus rind. Some resin comes through with warmth and a touch of bready malt. Very spicy/zesty hop character in the flavor and on the finish with the alcohol accentuating that. Fruity notes with citrus and pine resin being dominant. Medium body with a bit of weight to it and spicy bitterness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle served in a Pipeworks snifter. Batch #124
A: Pours a dark amber color with a yellowish head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin cap and thick collar. Sticky sheets for lace are left down the glass.
S: All simcoe, all the time. Piney and earthy with a little grapefruit backing. Some mild scallion as well. Sweet caramel malt balances it out.
T: Same as the nose. Sweet grapefruit with some earthy hops. Mild scallion on the very backend with some sweet bready malts.
M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation level. Earthy hops on the finish.
O: Full blown simcoe. Hits on all the levels and flavors you’d want from a beer like this. Tasty for sure.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Super fresh bottle, hazy gold pour. I’m guessing this one is so much better than older releases juDging by rates. Notes of dank simcoe, tropical fruit, light malt, and pine. Excellent ipa from Pipeworks.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz. bottle. Batch 194. Pours a nice orange color with a mild red tinge. Thick white head. Dank aroma of pine, mild citrus, grass and floral notes. Some caramel malt and booze peaking through. Flavor is caramel malt, piney hop bitterness, and slick saltiness. After the aroma, the flavor leaves much to be desired. Medium bodied, some booze. Interesting although I don’t think the Simcoe Showcase does much for the simcoe hop.
