Without grappling over somantics, the origin of this heavenly brew comes from the harmonizing minds at Owen & Engine and Pipeworks. Brewed with amchoor, coconut, jaggery sugar, and a gentle hopping of Hallerteau Blanc, this light, bright, Belgian inspired ale has a subtle vinous character that comes close to divine. With Soma, we attempt to transcend the limits of the ordinary experience, and offer up to you an otherworldly ale.

Lightly hazy gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Fine carbonation. Smooth malts. Trace of brandyish alcohol. slightly warming. Mellow citrus and just a whisper of coconut sweetness. Light dry finish. Too strong and not enough coconut. So why is it so damn drinkable?

Bomber. Pours a pale golden-yellow, medium white head with very nice retention and decent lacing. Nose is chock full o’ dominant coconut, hints of funk, bread dough, brown sugar cookies. Mouth is medium bodied, slightly oily, medium sweetness and prevalent coconut, mild tartness from the amchoor (powdered green mangoes if I recalll anything from my time learning to cook Inidan cuisine when I tried to go vegan 7 years ago...), light malts, biscuit. Quite tasty... be good with some flan or curried fruit.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a straw hazed yellow with medium white head. Good head retention and lacings. Aroma of coconut, stone fruit, white grape and sugar notes. Mild honey and golden malt notes. Flavor is mildly sweet with fruit and coconut notes. Initially, it is sweet with mild spice notes. Mild earth and saltiness imparted from the coconut round out the back end. Apparent sweet and tart fruit notes. Creamy body, medium carbonation. Finishes a bit hot. Overall, pretty smooth and nice.
