A storm is brewing and with it comes a wicked carnival of hops. The dark carnie leader’s skin is emblazoned with many a vine, including Columbus, Cascade, and Sorachi Ace. So whether you’re a Halloway or a Nightshade, you had better run, for with this carnival, Something Hoppy This Way Comes.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass. Pours a dark orange color with a foamy head. Very interesting aromatics of guava, pineapples, spices and florals as well. There is something in the spices that isn’t working for me though. Full bodied with a very smooth feel. Nice depth with spices, guava and pineapples. The spice note is dominating here as well. This isn’t my favorite pipeworks. There is some spice that isn’t doing it for me. It could also be that sorachi hops don’t work for me.

Poured from 2 bombers, I’m a sucker for a 10% IPA, especially one with a depiction of a tattooed carnival leprechaun holding weed on the label. It’s spicy, piney, creamy, boozy, sticky, & probably 2 more of the 7 dwarfs, did I mention it’s 10%?!

Bomber. Pours cloudy golden with thick off white head. Aroma is sweet malty happiness. Taste is sweet honey piney hops with a alcohol bitter hop finish. Pretty good but not my favorite pipeworts beer.

Draught at Fools Gold, NYC. Clear golden beer with a beautiful lasting offwhite head. Hoppy citrus aroma, pine, grapes, citrus, some medicine. Hoppy citrus flavor, grapefruit, medicine, floral notes. Cough medicine finish. 8 dollars for a 8 oz pour. So not worth it!

Great hop-filled IPA. Nothing special from an elite standpoint but still awesome for hop lovers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a light hazy rust orange. A citrus citrus and floral hop aroma with lemongrass and pine. A strong fruity flavor with floral hops and pine. A sweet flavor but with a strong bitter hop aftertaste.

@ Basunen 16-2-27: Lite smörig doft och smak. Tydlig färsk med en sötaktig jordgubbston. Lite störande smörton.

On tap at Local Option. Hazy golden with a small white head. Fresh and hoppy with pine, grapefruit, light grass and some warming alcohol. The finish was bitter.

Bottled. Cloudy orange. Has a citrus hop smell. When drinking it has a light body and the hop taste comes out afterwards. Has a piney hops and the after taste is grate fruity.

22 ounce bottle. Mellow flavors of citrus and pine. Not sure how old the bottle is, but was still good.

Color is rich, slightly hazy gold with a velvety head about one finger thick. Strong, clean hops smell -- tropical fruit, pineapple, just a hint of alcohol warmth. Taste is fruity, tangy with some peppery notes and a lot of savory dill/onion flavors too. Sticky body, bittersweet finish. Interesting IPA and another solid offering from Pipeworks.
