Super bourbon aroma! Strongest bourbon scented beer to date. Strong barrel-aged flavor on the tongue straight away. Delicious If you love barrel-aged beers!

Bottle: Dark caramel-brown & mahogany color. Basically opaque, small khaki film on top. Very, very, very boozy & very, very, very sweet on the nose. Lots of bourbon, oak, wood, vanilla, caramel crèmes, anise, brandy, toffee, butterscotch. Just smelling it is giving me a cavity. Translates to the flavor - very hot & very sweet. Borderline cloying with heavy dark fruits covered in caramel, anise, toffee, vanilla, & sticky sweet toasted malt sugars. Brown sugar lathered figs with a heavy bourbon & brandy booze aspect that burns the throat near the finish. Hot. This isn’t bad, but it needs some time to settle down. Too hot & sweet at the moment.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2015 had the newer Buffalo Trace version, which oddly isn’t a new beer here on ratebeer. thanks to the lazy admin for deleting that and moving my rating over here.. .. .
Yes! A dog beer!! .. . Pours a deep mahogany brown .. Medium head, strong lacing .. Cake frosting, dark syrup, and mild bourbon .. Mouth is good, finish is even better .. A warning calm barrel aged beer. A solid offering .. . . Dogs stink because they enjoy the company of turds

12oz bottle in a taster. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, bourbon, chocolate, oak, vanilla, light lactose, and some dough. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Smooth texture. A solid beer but maybe a little too sweet for me.

Pour on tap at FOBAB 2014, thick black pour with tan head, aroma brought big chocolate, milk chocolate, some bourbon notes come in with some vanilla as well, oak, some slight roasted malt with a hint of dark sugars. Taste was a mix of cocoa powder, dark bitter chocolate into oak, bourbon, slight dark caramel with some vanilla, finishing fairly sweet.

Bottle... Pours clear, deep and dark-brown with flickers of ruby and burnt-orange when held up to bright light. Big-time vanilla, white oak, toasted coconut and a trace of cola in the nose. Medium to full-bodied with buzzing carbonation. The flavor offers sweet vanilla, bourbon and chocolate crème with a boozy, lightly acidic, mildly acrid edge to it. Finishes with mocha and whiskey warmth. Bottle provided by BBB63!

Bottle. Nose is full of vanilla. Light oakiness. A light bit of alcohol in the nose. Soft chocolate. Taste is still full of cherries and apple. A little better than the last from these jokers. Not bad but not great

On tap @ FoBAB 2014. Pour is close to black with a small tan head. Aroma and flavor of roasted malt, milk chocolate, rich bourbon, and light vanilla extract. Finish is boozy with some pretzel and cocoa coming through.

First beer of the night at 20014 ba beer fest Chicago. Strong barrel aged beer good balance. A little light in body but strong in taste. Would love to cellar for a year or more.

Dark beer with reddish highlights when held against the light. Only the barest of a beige slick on the surface for a head. Boozy nose of whiskey, vanilla, oak and fruit cake. Lots of molasses and dark caramel and toffee sweetness with lots of vanilla, whiskey, dark fruit, and a lot of alcohol in the finish. The body seems a little thin, but the flavor is great. Nice barrel aged beer.

Bottle thanks to trade with FullObs. Batch 75, about 20 months old. Dark brown pour with a small foamy head that fades to a thin ring. Aromas are whiskey, musty oak, vanilla, cocoa, and caramel. Tastes pretty heavy on whiskey. Sweet caramel and molasses come through too. Lots of vanilla as well. Smooth mouthfeel, medium body. Well made but too heavy on the whiskey for me.
