tmoreau (2578) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - DEC 10, 2014
Shared 12 oz. bottle poured to snifters, showing a deep brown/mahogany color, with a light layer of off white head foam that diminished quickly to a thin ring, and bubbly film, and light spots & strands of lacing. The nose expressed some barrel influence, subtle esters as dried fruit, coconut, and cocoa. Medium+ bodied, with soft carbonation, the taste was sweet, barrel induced vanilla & coconut, and warming, but not boozy bourbon. Very nice.

Draft sample at FoBAB 2014 pours deep copper. Nose spicy, slight fruit, some barrel. Taste fairly boozy, similar to nose, and light spice.

Draft at FoBAB. Pours a dark amber/brown color with a thin beige head. The aroma and flavor have big sweet caramel malts, bourbon, vanilla, wood, dark fruits, cherry, raisins, chocolate blended in, smooth, nice beer.

Deep brown pour, creamy tan head. Loads of sweet malt up front, vanilla, caramel, figs, dates, raisins, whiskey, oak, light charred notes. Really damn good.

bottle from rxeight, I think. pours a murky reddish brown with minimal head that dissipated in no time. nose is light cherry with some other general fruitiness. a moderate amount of sweet malt sugar aroma. light vanilla with booze noted. Taste is initially thick, chewy, sweet, then the booze hits you. definitely sticks with you through the finish and then some. Very little carbonation and just a general sugary flavor, leave this a bit one dimensional and lifeless. good beer, but the mouthfeel needs something to break up the sweetness.

Bomber from Binny’s (can’t remember which location off the top of my head)... anyhow... pours a deep chestnut, still somewhat transparent, with very soft carbonation, a slight off white head that resembles a film more than anything. Nose is boozy bourbon barrel, brown sugar, chocolate milkshake, vanilla, marshmallows, raisins, figs and dates. Smells awesome. Mouth is oily and glides across the palate, choclatey, bourbony, dried fruitiness, slight metallic bitterness at finish. Quite nice overall. Nice work P-Dubz! Oh yeah: 800 ratings, baby! Hell fuckin’ yeah! Yay me! (... though perhaps not the same sentiment my liver would express if it had a mouth of its own)

Bottle sample at Muckfest V on 7/12/14. Clear copper pour with no head. Aroma of caramel, toffee and booze. Malty flavor giving way to bourbon and caramel before a sweet finish.

Dark murky brown pour with a bit of off white head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, candied apples, and vanilla. Lots of vanilla and fruit in the taste with a touch of candy sweetness. The booze is hidden well.
