3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle acquired from Binnys Marcey (Chicago, IL). Pours a well hazed amber orange hue, nice haziness. A frothy offwhite layer of head is a good size, stays around as a firm layer. Laces ok overall. Aromas offer big Galaxy hop element, white grape and tropical fruit, melon and good florals. Grass, tangerine, and tropical fruits really meld well. Strong hop aromas with some sweetness beneath, aided by the hops. Some bready and pale malts, a bit sweeter at times. Dry florals and bigger fruit hop elements. Initial is a strong dry bitter hopping to hit first, getting some floral, citrus and melon, white grape and mango and tropical fruit elements pushing in firmly as we enter. Dry and floral, the front end is fruit and dry hops, the middle staying dry, floral, earthy and firm to strong bitterness from a nice hop profile. A complex flavor results in a melange of fruit and hop elements through the middle, some bready malts, pale malts, grain. A bit soapy, tropical fruit, melon into that backend where itís still dry and bitter, but those fruit elements also add a touch of sweetness. Rich hop flavors cycle through the beer, ending with a firmly dry and bitter finish, lingering citrus and florals. Grass, earth, a touch of resiny pine or alcohol push gives some presence in there. Pretty damn fresh, a rich melange of hops creates a great flavor. The beer itself a bit sweet at times because of it. I really dig this beer, itís fresh, lively, and complex. But Iíd personally keep Citra and NvU above this one for overall experience and an expertly dry and bitter experience throughout. The Galaxy hops add some rich complexity in this one. Pretty damn good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a well-hazed orange-gold with a sticky white head that persists. The nose is a blast of juicy galaxy hops. Loads of tropical fruit, some sweetness, papaya and guava. Some floral esters underneath that are a bit distracting. Noted alcohol. On tasting, the hops lend an odd sort of sweetness that is a bit off. Tons of tropical fruit again, moderately high bitterness. Some earthy malt as well. Solid but not my favorite.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle batch #67 poured a dark golden color with a thin white head that fell right off. Aroma has huge citrus, lemon rind, tropic hits, some resin, light malt, and dry hops. Mouth feel is medium with medium low carbonation. Flavor sure is a big hop monster. Bitterness picks up, resins, dry citrus rind, some grapefruit, orange zest pokes, light sweetness, and a bit of heat on the finish.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a light golden color.
Amazing aroma from the galaxy hops. Loads of melon, citrus, passion fruit, mango and other fruity notes.
Incredibly bright, fruity (melon and tropical fruit) for the hops and a nice surprisingly light body that still stands up. Dangerously drinkable for the abv.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle from Binnyís Lakeview. Batch #67. Pours a lightly hazed, pale golden colored body with a finger-width, frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is big pineapples, tropical fruits, and melons with a dank pine resin and a slight candied sweetness. Lightly sweetened pale malt backing with a bit of a clean wheat. Flavor is similar. Lots of piney and resiny, somewhat dank hops with plenty of pineapples, grapefruits, tropical fruits, and melons. A lightly sweetened pale malt backing allows the hops to shine with just a touch of wheat in the end. Finishes dry, bitter, fruity, and resiny before leaving a lengthy aftertaste with just a slight warmth. Medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, another solid DIPA from these guys. Very fresh, fruity, clean, bitter, and somewhat dank from the Galaxy hops. Drinks way too easy for the size. Good one.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz. bottle served in a Pipeworks tulip. Batch # 65.
A: Pours a clear amber color with a thick white head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thick ring that leaves some soapy looking lace down the glass.
S: Huge waves of tropical and citrus fruits. Pineapple, mango and some cantaloupe. Tangerine, clementine and some honey notes. Caramel malt sweetness as well.
T: Pineapple and mango notes initially with a ton of underlying piney bitterness. Some light lemon peal, orange and some honey notes to it. Sweet bread malt body with a touch of caramel to it. A touch of booze on the back end.
M: Medium to light bodied with a medium high carbonation level. Slightly boozy and sweet, but very drinkable for 9.5%.
O: I still liked the initial flavor profile of Citra Ninja more, but this is an extremely close second for me. This is a little more sweet than CN, but the hops shine a little more. Overall Iím splitting hairs, both are delicious. Well done guys!
